Excellent book on Limit Hold-Em
"Weighing the Odds in Hold Em Poker" by King Yao
Has anyone read this book? Includes explanation of different player types, and adjusting your strategy depending on the player type. What player types are best and worst to use moves such as slowplaying check raising , raising for free cards etc. A whole bunch on EV, pot odds, outs and position. Then the real good stuff hits IMO. A full chart of starting hands based on position (I think pshabi just posted a question relating to this), a section just devoted to the AQo debate, playing specific hands on the flop, kicker issues, reading opponents hands and 18 different common mistakes in short handed (3-6) limit holdem There is also an entire online poker section (inlcudes bonus whoring Geoff) I really like his common mistakes area, including specific hands in specific positions. Some are fairly obvious (dont call an UTG raise with A10o in third position, but a lot deals with high suited one gappers , suited connectors MEDIUM PAIRS etc in various positions. Worthwhile invested for anyone interested |
