Foxwoods - I flopped the nut flush twice...
... and all I have to show for it is this lousy T-shirt.
Well, not exactly. Good overnight down in Indian Country. I played 3 hours of 5/10 (kill at $100) LHE before dinner (+ $88) and 3 hours of 1/2 NLHE (they raised the max buy-in to $300) after dinner (+$270). What follows are a couple of strange hands from the LHE session. I didn't put these in the strategy session because that's not why I'm posting them. These are instructive for those people who think seeing strange things is only an online poker phenomenon. Enjoy. Hand 1: Kill hand (so its playing like a 3-blind 10/20 game). MP is an older rock, button is a mediocre player who has been a total luckbox against everyone but me since I sat down. I'm in the BB with A 9 2 folds, killer checks, 2 calls, SB folds, I call. ($40) Flop: 5 4 2 I check, killer checks, MP checks, Button bets, I call, killer folds, MP call. ($70) Turn: 6 I check (button will always bet if checked to), MP checks, button bets, I raise, MP calls 2 cold, button folds. ($150) OK, wtf? MP is the rock of friggin' Gibralter, does he have the 3??? River: (you guessed it) 3 I bet, MP frets and shakes his head, winces and calls. Chop-chop. Hand 2: Not a kill hand. I'm in the SB with A 6 4 limpers, I complete, BB checks. ($30) Flop: 2 7 T I bet, only MP2 (young heavy kid wearing a sweatshirt that says wtf?) calls. ($40). Turn: T I love it I bet, he calls, ($60) River: T ugh I bet hoping to make something I don't beat fold(dumb, I know), he raises, I know he wouldn't make that raise with anything but some kind of pair and fold. He shows me K T . Great. Overkill. All that aside, it was a great game. I left for dinner shortly after the two clueless calling stations left, one of whom was a middle-aged Asian woman who could not fold if she had money in the pot. Seriously, she would overcall the river on a 4-flush board with 3rd pair no card of the flush suit.
