WSOP Attire...
So, I'm reading through the "" on the Poker Stats blog, and I just noticed this.
Guess I'm either going to have to carry some masking tape with me or wear different clothing than I planned on wearing. ----- Q. Could you please advise if there is any dress code for WSOP players? A. PokerStars players who have agreed to wear PokerStars gear will be provided shirts to wear. Otherwise, almost anything goes in the poker room. The one exception is, you will not be allowed to wear clothing with any ".com" branding on it. Dress comfortably. I've found, depending on the number of people in the room, it can be very hot and sometimes downright cold. I've been comfortable in pants and a short-sleeved shirt on most days. However, there have been times I've worn a jacket. I would advise that you pack a sweatshirt, fleece, or light jacket in your backpack in case it starts getting cold. Being cold at the table is no way to keep your hands from shaking when you flop a set. |

Well, I'm not sure if I'll be allowed to cover the .com with a piece of tape, or if it won't be allowed at all. I'm thinking the tape should be fine, but you never know.
For the sweatshirts I'm having made (they haven't been made yet), I'm going to tell them to leave the .com off, so it will just say "Talking Poker." For the hats, the .com is so tiny, I can't imagine anyone noticing anyway, but I'll probably take some tape with me or something in case I get to a tv table. No way am I going to be on a tv table without SOME SORT of TP hat on. Actually, maybe I'll have them make up a special one for me without the .com.... |

that probably would be a good idea, im sure if you did make it to a tv table people would be smart enough to figure out they have to add the .com

Doesn't appear that they are strictly enforcing that dress code policy, if you check out this page: you'll see several with ".com" gear on. Perhaps they'll be more strict for the ME??

I saw three .coms on that page - the rest were .nets or blank. And yeah, I suspect they'll enforce it more for the Main Event and DEFINITELY fot all tv tables.
I'm thinking of losing the .com from future clothing branding, starting today. Anyone who doesn't know to go to the .com is too stupid to be here anyway. |

I was going to ask if you had talkingpoker.net registered but then decided to just not be lazy and check it out myself. Nope. AND it's currently being cyber-squatted. Bastards. Whenever I register a domain I plan on keeping for a long time, I grab the .net and .com TLDs just to avoid that hassle.
You should see about going after the squatters of the .net and see if you can grab it back. |
