Default Poker Terms Trivia....

Ok so I've been studying up on my Poker Terms and their meanings so that I'll better understand what the hell you guys are talking about when you're limping around... lol

I need you all to give me your best ones, & I'll try my best to give you the meaning of them to see if I fully understand them; maybe you can help me out if I'm wrong

As for the first one; I'll start with ...what I am at the present; Don't wanna be a "Shark" if I don't even know the meaning of it...so here it goes; tell me if I'm wrong about it.

Ok I'm no shark in Poker.... but I'm one on here cus I post lots...

SHARK: a good player who usually wins. A shark usually plays with a lot of n00bs (fish) & is only interested in winning money.

Ok so now I need you all to help me out and give me some more Poker terms so I can see if I understand them. thx

Limping: Say you're playing 10 handed NLHE. Small and Big blind post and the first player just calls the big blind (no raise). That's "limping" into a pot.

This is by no means complete, but it's a good start for those that don't know common poker terms:

Yeah, that might have been a bit too tough for this type of quiz. But I would like to see some of the answers we could come up with

yes.

And if it's done in a 6-max limit game, I don't "watch out" for that player. I add him to my buddy list.

I'm not absolutely sure I know what this means but this is what I think it is.
Let's say it's a preflop and someone raises the blind and I then call and raise. I'm making 2 bets.

Tell me if I'm right or wrong please.

Edit: oops didn't realize answer was already given. I just scrolled down to read the other posts.

FYI - and I should put this in the poker pet peeves thread - it's not possible to "Call and raise." They are two different actions. A call is a call and a raise is a raise. If you are playing and say, "call," don't expect to be able to raise after that, because you won't be able to.

So many people say this all the time, but you never hear anyone say, "I fold and call."

hmm I know you can't call and raise; I should rephrase that. What I meant to say is I'm betting double; playing as if I were to call and then raise but all in one.

I'm not making sense am I

Wait let me get the quote off someone who explained it much better than I did.

Here ...he explains it much better. I'm just beginning to understand all these terms

This is not the same thing.

What this says is: Bet, Raise, Call. Of course the amount of the call includes the raise (you can't call the first bet but not the second), but there is no such thing as this "call and raise" stuff, and all it does is confuse people who are trying to follow the action as it is described...

YES!!! That eneds to be added to my pet peeve list -- equally as annoying as someone saying they raise 50 (when it hasnt been bet yet) is "I call your 50.... and raise you another 50" THAT my friend, is a string bet since you're so eager to call them on me!

That reminds me of one more

"I call you all in"

I dunno where to begin on this one
