2010 – how’d you do?
I finished … drumroll please … up $97. Sure beats being down, but given that spans 45 live game sessions averaging about two to three hours each, I’m making less than $1 an hour. Granted, that includes a lot of comped meals, tips, etc., and most people have hobbies that cost them money, but still …
The easiest way for me to increase my winnings in 2011 would be playing fewer tournaments. I’m up overall in 3/6 to 2/10 limit cash games. But I gave most of that back in tourney entry fees, where my choice is to play either low entry events with weaker players but a total crapshoot structure, or high entry tourneys in Vegas where my opponents are better MTT players than I am. Neither is +EV. Either that, or hit more huge miracle hands. Monte Carlo board at one of the rooms I play at is now paying over $10k for a diamond royal flush, both cards must play. Fingers crossed …

Sadly, I haven't played poker much this past year. Won nearly every home game that I played, but total that was maybe $200. Looking to play more this upcoming year, but that is probably unlikely.

+$303
And it FEELS like a losing year since I was -$809 in SNGs Although that was over 1025 SNGs abi $27 (ROI -2.67%), I got annoyed enough that I basically stopped playing SNGs the 2nd half of the year. On the surface, that looks like a bad decision since it's a small losing ROI and looks just like variance. OTOH, my level of frustration was so high that it was probably not that bad a decision My MTT year was good, +$751 (169.04% ROI) at Stud/8, +$93 at mixed game multis (+18.09% ROI), +$92 in NLHE multis mostly $3 R&A (+3.81% ROI) -$158 in cash games and I vow to never play 6 max PLO again.

I had a winning year, but underground NYC games have gotten extremely tough to grind off of, as the rakes are through the roof now at many games. Players still suck and the games do have potential but you are losing so much profit to the chop it's unreal.
I'm going to have a make a relatively big decision pretty soon
