HU Cash Game Challenge...
So, I was thinking about this a little bit last night, and I don't have the details worked out yet, but I was thinking it would be cool if we did a HU Cash Game challenge. The basic idea would be to start at a very low limit (probably up to each individual based on their bankroll, but a couple of levels BELOW where you usually play), and then play. Sticking to strict bankroll guidelines, you would move up as your roll grows, but the catch is that you have to "bank" some percentage of your profits from every session.... maybe 20%. That way, when you eventually bust/quit, you will have somthing to show for your efforts.
Bankroll requirements for this challenge would be much more aggressive/risky that "normal," making it more exciting and a better chance for a quick, big score. I'm thinking anywhere from 2-4 buy ins. So, just for an example of how this would work, let's use these variables: -Bank 20% of profits after each session. -3x bankroll requirement. Say you start with a $100 roll. That means you can play at the $25 tables (you need $150 to play the $50s). Session 1: Leave table with $35: $10 profit. $2 goes in the "bank" and new roll is $108. Session 2: Lose $20. New roll is $88 (we still have $2 in the bank). Session 3: Leave table with $65: $40 profit. $8 goes in the bank. New Roll is $120. $10 is safe in the bank. Etc, etc. A couple of things to remember: You'd have to turn auto-reload off, so you can keep track of exactly where you are at roll wise. No multi-tabling. Well, I guess you oculd play two $50 tables instead of one $100 table, but the idea is to move up quickly. I guess for this to work well (chance for a big score), we'd need to really lax the bankroll requirements and maybe only play with a 2x roll requirement. I dunno. What do you guys think? Sound interesting/fun? Any ideas? |

Don't everybody get so excisted and brainstorm at once now.
BTW - If we did do this, I don't know who would win, but I do know that I would lose. My God HU cash tilts me. I mean, do they ever not catch their miracles? |

My god you're impatient.
It does sound fun and I'm interested. How do we keep a "scoreboard" for this? The amount you've "banked" in relation to your starting roll? Where your roll is at in relation to where you started (i.e., percentage increase in your roll)? Is there a time limit (i.e., just the month of June, or for 2 weeks?)?? Or, do we play up to a certain number of hands and then see who "won"??

Am I missing something on Tilt? I am looking at the NL tables - low limits - and the cheapest heads up table i am seeing is $.25/$.50 - $100 buy-in.
I am not seeing one on Stars for less than $100 either. Unless you are suggesting people sit short-stacked. |

Are you back to 6 max? I thought you were a HU convert... or is that only JD/sjay?
I've made multiple (half asses) attempts to convert to HU cash games, but they are short lived. The tilt me like no other game. It's like running. I want to like running. I want to be good at running. But if I'm honest with myself, it's just not gonna happen. |

I'd be in for something like this, particularly like having a set number of sessions and then making some side bets. For example, "amount banked"/"ending bankroll" that ratio would make for some exciting bets.
As for play some PLO, it will numb you to suckouts. |

This sounds like fun to me. HU cash is one of my better games, but playing too much of it really drains me.
I would definitely be down for something like this. |
