Do you...
Quick question. Does anyone else find it hard to get away from a losing hand when they are looking down at AA or KK?
When the board gets ugly, do you slow right down to aggression or resistance or do you keep pushing? EX: Flop comes down 2 suited or 2 running cards to a str8. You bet 2/3 pot up to whole pot, to make the draws a bad call. You get called anyways. The scare card comes on the turn. Are you done betting in the hand and move into check/call mode? Do you bet pot on turn and if called check/call river? What if your raised on turn with that scare card on board? I usually stay aggressive throughout the whole hand. Sometimes times this turns out to be prudent, sometimes seems donkish as I watch them pulling in my stack. I think I might start going into check/call mode. What do you guys think? Super aggression on the flop is a whole other thread. (indicating 2pr or trips.) |

I focus on making good pre-flop and flop decisions, to make my opponents make bad ones.
This includes denying them proper draw odds on the flop, attempting to have position on my opponents (so I can check back the turn then call the river bet) IF your raised you need a solid opponent read if he's representing the flush or he has it. Do you bet your draws or check call them? If you don't bet them an opponent can quickly pick that up, know since you bet you arent on a draw, and thus use that completed draw to scare you. Has this opponent been betting often or has he been quiet? Was there a raise preflop? Does the completed straight draw make sense? Does your opponent chase? In general AA is basically TPTK -- so don't play it that much stronger than you would TPTK to a scary board -- it's only a pair.

I have trouble getting away from AA when it's an overpair to the board in NL... at least in cash games for some reason. It's a leak of mine, I know.
