Lawsuit against WSOP champ Gold
You guys see this one?
Weird story -- sounds like they've succeeded in at least delaying Gold getting the prize money

So he is paying 6 mill for two B list celebs to wear the bodog name during the main event? Thats a shatty deal to make.

I read it as, Bodog offered to pay Gold's entry into the ME if he found a couple of celebs to pimp for them. Gold couldn't/wouldn't do it so he offered to let his 'friend' take the deal if he could find some celebs and they would split the winnings evenly. 'Friend' held up his end of the bargain, but Bodog said Gold had to play.
Now, I haven't heard anyone say anything good about Gold, but I'm not prepared to crucify him just yet. After all, there was no written agreement between them. Gold could have collected the cash and walked out that day and said "what agreement". So, is Gold being a douche and trying to screw his friend? Or is Gold consulting his accountants and lawyers to figure out the most beneficial way to collect the money? Is his friend getting paranoid that Gold might try to screw him?or is he getting antsy to spend some of that green? How much of the $12M are the lawyers gonna get? |

I've been following this one too. It also appears as if the 10% allegedly promised to Chan for consulting and advice has not been paid yet. I, too, am not quite ready to nail the guy to the cross, but let's just say I've got the wood, hammer, and nails at the ready. If the answering machine message really exists, that's pretty damning evidence.

hahaha. Indeed he did!
Don't worry dude... eejit is transferring the money to you RIGHT NOW*. *"Right Now" = over one month ago in eejit fantasy land = Never in Reality. |

Actually, I think turning $0 into $6 million instead of $12 million is a pretty sweet deal.
But I am still leaning towards this guy being an eejit. So, he promised 10% to Chan too, eh? That must have been some serious "consulting." I mean, what could he have possibly told him that would make THAT much difference??? |

I do wonder about this whole 10% fiasco. Where did you read that Rob?

I'm pretty sure I had read it over at that big place in one of the many Gold threads. I'll take a look and see if I can find it again.

It was mentioned in at 2+2. I think I also read it in another thread at 2+2 that was a bit more corroborative but can't find it now.
There was another interesting post in that thread about Stephen Colbert and Jamie Gold. You be the judge: |

Newer thread at 2+2 has a supposedly reputable source claiming the 10% Johnny Chan dealie-o never happened now. Grr. Stupid internets and all their vicious rumours. Lies! They're all lies I tell ya!!!
