Interesting Party Support
So, I *FINALLY* got around to dropping some money into Party. My god, the play there is sooo bad. Sure, I've only got <2000 hands played so far and I know that variance will come along and slap me upside the head, but DAMN am I running good right now.
Anyway, this post isn't about that. It's about what happened AFTER I deposited money into Party. I'm sitting on the couch happily two-tabling .50/1 LHE. (Had actually just closed my 3rd table) when the phone rang. Nikki looks at the phone and says "604?" (area code). I shrug, "Meh. Answer it." She does, says "one moment" and tosses the phone to me. It's short and crashes to the floor. I scramble for it, being carefuly not to dump the notebook on the floor. Forturnately buddy didn't hang up. Turns out it was Party Poker support calling to confirm the account. They asked a bunch of identity questions (including method of deposit). They also asked if I knew someone by the name of Nicola ********. Not sure why they called me. The support rep said that I would now be able to enjoy higher limits and faster withdrawls. Okay, sure. whatever. Thanks. Just thought it odd that they would call me and confirm information after making my initial deposit. Unfortunately, I opened the account MONTHS ago so didn't get any first time deposit bonuses. ah well. |

I got a call from that area code from "Party Promotions" asking me to verify information about my account, they gave the info first and I just had to say yes or no, so it was someone who already had the info and I didn't give anything (Like password) that they didn't already have.
After that the guy said they were putting $20 in my account for the inconvienence, the $20 never showed up. I honestly didn't care about the $20 but was worried that some nut got hold of my Party info. I e-mailed Party support about it and after three days they said they were looking into it as they do, from time to time, do exactly what I described. In true Party support fashion I have not heard from them since, but I see no suspicious activity on my account at all.

Change your password on party (make it something complicated as usual, numbers letters, caps lowercase, etc, etc) and you should be ok. I am always a little on edge when one of those places calls my home number as well.

I'm not the least bit worried. This call was literally within minutes of making the deposit so I have no doubt whatsover that this was indeed Party support that I was talking to. My guess is the only reason they called may have been because their system showed two real money accounts at the same address now as they were aware of Nikki. Beats me.

Party calls anyone on their first deposit. I remember getting my first historic online poker support call roughly 2 1/2 years ago.

Actually, when I downloaded the software and installed it months ago, I *DID* use your link. Also, when making the deposit last week, I tried the MONEYMONEY code but it didn't give me any bonus. Perhaps because my account has been open for so long, just never was a real money account.
