Question about Iron Man status on FTP
ok guys i think i am a bit confused as to how iron man works. hopefully some of you can explain some of this to me so i understand it a little better. this month i began grinding a whole lot of cash games on ftp. ive mainly been 10 - 16 tabling 200 max full ring on ftp. i opted in to the iron man status because i figured it would be worth a great amount of value on top of my 27% rakeback.
i began playing midway through the month so only played 16 days out of the month. it says up until this point i have only accumulated "342 iron man plus medals" and "40 bonus medals." it also says my status is currently silver. what are the differences between iron man plus and bonus medals? i see that i cannot purchase a $600 bonus until i reach 3,000 medals. i am only about 10% of the way so far. so when do i begin to see bigger increases in medals so they add up quicker? i did not expect to play over 80 hours in the past two weeks to only be 1/10 of the way to a bonus. im pretty sure there is something i am not understanding here, if you guys could please explain this to me it would be greatly appreciated. thanks, julian |

This isn't going to copy and paste well, I don't think, but take a look at the chart on the right side of the page:
IRON MAN Medals Received Per Month Month 1 2-3 4-6 7-12 13+ Bronze 25 30 35 45 60 Silver 40 50 60 75 100 Gold 70 85 100 125 175 Iron 100 120 150 200 300 The more months you are in the program, the more medals you will earn for reaching each Iron Man status. You must be in your first month, because Silver is worth 40 medals in month 1. After you've reached some sort of status for 13+ months, Silver will be worth 100 medals, for example. The "Bonus Medals" are what you opted into, rather than qualifying for the Silver (or whatever you end up being) Freeroll tourney. Those get their own chart: Bronze 25 Silver 40 Gold 70 Iron 100 So right now, you've got 40+40. Lastly, your Iron Man Plus medals are what you earn on the day you reach > 500 points. That's a third chart: FULL TILT POINTS MEDALS 500 2 1000 3 1500 5 2000 10 Every Additional 1,000 Points 10 This page explains everything pretty well: Basically, in order to stay in the program, you need to play at least 15 days a month at 100 points per day. Minimum. Then, the longer you are in the program, the more medals you will earn for the exact same play. It currently maxes out at 13 months though. At that point, if you play 25 days per month of 200 points per day (this is what I do most months), you will earn 300 Medals for Iron, 100 bonus medals, and then however many "plus" medals you earned for your high volume days.... So 400+x medals per month. I hope that helps. |

well yes that def. explains it. so 400+ medals a month. so then this isnt anything like supernova elite where you can clear two of the 4k bonuses a month or anything. i was thinking those $600 bonuses would come fairly quickly, knocking out quite a few in a months span. guess not. huge letdown

Yeah, not really... but remember, these are just Iron Man Medals... you get these on top of the points you are already earning.
From what I've read, Stars program is better for extremely high volume players, but Tilt's is better for low-mid volume players (assuming you are getting rakeback). FT also rewards longevity, where Stars is all about the volume. The ideal thing to do if you are a huge volume player is to earn your 200 points per day on FT, 25 days a month, and then play the rest (the majority) of you play on Stars. Or so I've heard. For me, I don't play enough to make a dent in the Stars statuses, so I just happily play at FT and earn my 27% RB, points and medals. Speaking of which, I'm still waiting on the 46" LCD tv that I ordered from the FT store a few weeks ago. IT should nicely compliment my Canon Digital Rebel XS camera and my 32 GB Ipod Touch, all "free" (they counts against RB, so it's like paying 27% of the value) from cashing in my FT points. |
