Bite Your Tongue
I wanted to relate a problem I have. Some people are such jerks at the table that I cannot help taunting them. I really do beleive the nice people, who are interesting, and engage the table, get people to want to stay and throw there money away. I want to be that person. Instead I react to people sometimes.
Last night for example a real tool comes to our table. She state's, after losing the first hand, "Mr. X I am going to beat your ass and take all of your Money". Mr. X chuckled. I really got annoyed at her though. So every chance I got I would rib her. Some of the good comments: She says, "SirFWA You are a bad player and I am going to take all of your money!" I Reply "Yeah, I am +$608 bad." (I Know one session does not make the man!) "Your just going to dribble your money away! All bad players do!" she retorts. So every pot after that I won I said "Dribble.. Dribble.. Cmon C4! You can say it! Dribble.. Dribble.." I was watching Snoop Dog on Howard Stern so I made a comment like: "You should be my Hoe C4, You would make more money than being my Table Bitch!" I think she was considering the offer. There were several other barbs that night. All in all I was having fun and being a jerk. Something else for me to work on, although it makes it alot more fun sometimes! |

I know what you mean, there is this one guy on UB that use to follow me around the tables talking smack to me. Mysteriously, one day I took him for about $20 the first time I ever played stud8 and he suddenly disappeared. He reappeared but I refuse to play him now, I will simpy take my chips and go elsewhere.

Trolls?
Some, if not most, people talk shit to get a reaction. Seems to work w/ you, eh? I would suggest ignoring the other players, because it's just going to either (i) give off a tell, or (ii) hurt your play. You have to remember - you're dealing with a bunch of gamblers looking to win YOUR money - they want you on tilt.
It's not worth it.

Tilt Inducing
I actually think I play better when I am verbally sparing with people. It makes it fun between hands, distracts them when there trying to play, and just is a hell of alot of fun! I am very good at it, and enjoy frustrating people to the point where instead of making cute comments all they can say is "#&^#*(*&#*@(#". heh.

I find it odd that you have "such a problem with people" at the tables (ie: their comments), but you're the one who likes to verbally "spar" with people.

Heh
I am an enigma wrapped in a contradiction. heh. I will NEVER start a verbal sparing match with anyone. If I start any conversation it is a nice one "Is that Weston, MA! Kewl, I live there too!". "Vegas, wow! What casino's do you like to play at?".
If someone however starts mouthing off then I enjoy the verbal sparring match. "She Started it", "No I didn't". I guess I stopped maturing around 5th grade! heh. |

I agree. Sometimes I find myself in the mood to be more of an asshole than I usually am - sometimes not.
