Default If you are interested in filling out a bracket...

This is the thread to respond in.

Here are the details I think should come into it -- this is FAR from final (although it needs to be in the next few days), so if people have other ideas, or would do something differently please let me/us know.

5 dollar entry fee -- this should be low enough so anyone that wants to participate can, it'll provide a little extra to the winner but nothing major...and it adds a little more fun to it. (Edit if everyone is interested in doing it for a higher amount, as long as it wont result in a loss of people participating that is fine.)

There needs to be a certain # of people interested in order to get this going -- i dunno what the minimum # should be -- but lets hope its not an issue.

Fill out an entire bracket (please make sure your match ups for the later rounds are correct -- if someone wants to post a bracket style list of the matchups to make it easier thatd be fantastic, although i dunno how youd get it to fit. As long as you pay a little bit of attention it should be too hard to figure it out though).

Round of 32: 1 point each
Round of 16: 2 points each
Round of 8: 4 points each
Round of 4: 8 points each
Championship: 10 points

If two players are tied we can do one of two tie breakers.

-- The player who advanced further in the tournament gets the tie breaker

-- Everyone guesses the time it'll take for the championship to be decided, the closest time breaks the tie

The should be a winner takes all event, unless there is an unusual amount of interest (i.e all 32 players fill out brackets -- which btw is how it should be)
If that is the case 2nd and or 3rd place may be rewarded as well

All brackets must be posted BEFORE the start of the 1st match

If you are interested reply to this thread so we can see if there is enough interest (and theres no reason there shouldnt be) to get this going

Unrelated Side Note: I also think that all matches should be posted in a special thread started in the rail me section, saying what day and time they are being played -- that way people can rail (and spy on their future opponents perhaps )

Ummm, Im sure Im forgetting plenty, so yell at me. If you hate something about this let me know (specifically the point totals). If you think itd work better if we changed something lets hear it.

I'm interested in the bracket and this (above) will be happening. I'll set it up.

Default A little late....

I would have gladly posted my picks but I see that the rules state it needed to be BEFORE the first match and I can see that that has already happened also.
I guess I will look harder next time.

BTW, I see that no one picked me to win it all...... What's up with that? Guess you have to earn the respect fella's huh?

Good Luck!

I have a 5 spot to poke in the kitty and no one will take it....

2Tone, I just wanted to personally thank yuo for being the only person to pick me to get out of round 1. If I win this whole thing, I will personally PM all involved in this NCAA bracket-style format and give them a piece of my mind, but Tone, you will be saved from my wrath .

Well, obviously you can't fill out a bracket after you know some of the results! This is what you get for procrastinating...

Thanks for losing to nflchad, btw - FINALLY I get a pick right
