I can't take it any more...
My biggest poker weakness is continuing to play (sub-optimally) when I am losing. I look around the table at the idiots who are beating me, and I keep thinking that given enough time, I'll get them back. And they keep killing me, over ad over and over.
If it's not cooler after cooler, it's this shit: Full Tilt Cash game, $2/$4 No Limit, 6 players Hand History by SB: $400 BB: $260.25 HERO (UTG): $769.30 MP: $247.20 CO: $786.80 Button: $378 SB posts Small Blind $2 BB posts Big Blind $4 Pre-flop: 2 2 ($6) HERO raises to $14 MP folds CO folds Button folds SB calls $12 BB calls $10 Flop: A 7 2 ($42) SB checks BB checks HERO bets $28 SB folds BB calls $28 Turn: A 7 2 5 ($98) BB checks HERO bets $76 BB calls $76 River: A 7 2 5 3 ($250) BB checks HERO bets $168 BB calls $142.2 and is all in BB shows 4 A BB wins $531.50 with a straight Five high |

Moments later, I have my best result of the entire night after hitting a set - choppie choppie! Look at me not LOSE, after he hit his 6 outer (2 of which put 4 diamonds on the board) on the turn.
Brilliant play, sir. I don't know how many walks I had tonight (not many), but I do know that TWO of them came when I was holding this hand...
That's the type of bad luck you can't really quantify with all in graphs and Sklansky Bucks and such. Full Tilt Cash game, $1/$2 No Limit, 6 players Hand History by SB: $198 HERO (BB): $200 UTG: $209 MP: $86.10 CO: $453.80 Button: $200 SB posts Small Blind $1 HERO posts Big Blind $2 Pre-flop: A A ($3) UTG folds MP folds CO folds Button folds SB folds |

this reminds me of when I was trying to get comfortable at $1/2. For several months I had 10K+ hands of $0.5/1 running 8-10ptBB/100 and 250 hands at $1/2 running something like -100ptBB/100.
I know it is different for you as you are comfortable at $2/4, just what it reminded me of. You'll bounce back. |

Yep, and I know that too. These ridiculous downswings are part of the game (at least for us humans - maybe not for The Storm and people like him).
But they still sting. |
