CNN reports on poker's demise
Not at my card room ...
But as this holiday season nears an end, the industry's luck seems to be running out as boxed sets of cards and chips are discounted, ratings fade for some poker-themed television shows and shares of a poker-linked stock slump. |

It's just like anything else that get's overexposed.
Once everyone buys a chip set you don't need em anymore I can only watch so much poker before it sickens me. The only shows i watch anymore is WPT, I'll watch the Heads up Finals again, And I enjoy The WSOP coverage of the smaller non hold em events I loved law and order on TV but i can't bear to watch it anymore with the 50 offsprings same with CSI you can only flood the market with so much before the genetic pool becomes so diluted that no one cares anymore. I think the allure of the WPT and WSOP coverage is that anyone can qualify and anyone can win. Why watch Superstars or Celebrity Poker showdown when you will never be able to compete with these ppl (unless your fav star is on then i'm sure watching it makes sense). I don't know I'm babbling now so I'll end this here |

Let me add one thing to my last post
All these shows on poker may meet their demise in the future because of overexposure or lack of viewers but poker will never ever ever die |
