Default TPF League III Interest List and Suggestions...

The deal will be about the same as last time:

(See details in that thread)

Quick summary:

We'll have 20 Events on - 2 per week for 10 weeks... One every Sunday night (no more Saturday tourneys) and one on T, W, or Th night each week. 9:30 PM ET.

The league fee will be $10 per person. You can play in the events without being in the league, but to have your points count and to be eligible for the prizes (and the Tournament of Chamnpions!) at the end, you need to pay your entry fee first.

I'll kick in some extra cash and/or prizes. I'm not sure exactly what, but I'm thinking I'll put up $100 for the TOC, and maybe throw in a sweatshirt for the overall League Winner.

Other than not having any Saturday tourneys, I also suggest the following changes for this time around: Let's mix in some different games. My suggested breakdown:
14 NLHE
1 Limit HE
1 Omaha (PL)
1 Omaha H/L (limit)
1 Stud (limit)
1 Stud H/L (limit)
1 HORSE (if they offer them by them - cross your fingers)

This will still make the league very Hold'Em focused, but I think it would be fun to TRY some of these other games, even if it's just once each. I'd be ok with more of each, but I'd rather ease these in and see how people react to them this first time around, rather than going crazy with the mixed games.

The other suggestion I'd like to make it to only count the Top 8 scores for each person, instead of 10. This should make the league a bit more competitive, and more fair for those who have to miss tourneys. Last time, no one scored 10 times. Only N1kita scored 9 times, but a few people were in the 7-8 neighborhood:

Ok, those are my thoughts. Let's have this thread be both an interest list and a discussion thread for other ideas. I'd like to get things finalized and the schedule out by the end of the month, with the intent of kicking off the league in September and running into November, hopefully wrapping up before U.S. Thanksgiving.

Oh, and yes, I plan on winning. Again.

Yea I like these dates you picked out better than the last. Yes, I am interested, and I wouldnt mind to see few more Omaha and Stud Hi/LO events. But we need to come to an agreement as a whole.

I like the mixing of the games idea, the thing is will some people who might play in this league pay $10 to play Stud H/L split for the first time? just a thought.

The top 8 scores is good, less emphasis on playing all 20, but also more incentive, as youll need some better finishes to be higher.

The satirday games were low, so pure weekdays and sundays is a good plan.

Maybe kick the entry up to $20? as for 20 games at $10 a game, thats $200, and that was just about the total pool from the whole thing, just reckon itd be alot better if the prizes were higher for the end finishes.

Like i said, just some input, i prolly wont be able to play here by then, just offering my 2 cents

Bumping the entry fee to $20 sounds great to me, actually.... I'll be interested to see others' reaction to that suggestion especially.

that was actually a suggestion of mine around last year and everyone agreed on 10. I never ended up playing a single event with you guys due to my schedule. But I look forward to it this year. But $20 dollars seems ideal

Don't worry about not having played any of the other formats - very few of us have much time on the other tables. If you want to practice up though so that you at least get the basic idea of the others, I'd definitely recommend hitting up the play money tables for an orbit or two.

Default Im in

but if this starts next month I wont be playing next month seeing as I start work at 11pm. The month after that im switching to 7:30am to 4pm and will be able to make all the other ones.

$20 league fee sounds fine to me just let me know when to send it, $10 buy-ins is also great. Im about 95% sure im playing.

Sounds good to me. How many people do these usually get?

See last time's for exact counts.

But we typically would average 10-15 per event.

That's fine. I get up at 5:15 AM for work, so if these were shaping up as 4 or 5 hours to finish in the top 3, it'd be tough to commit to too many, but now it looks more like 3 hours max.

They are USUALLY over within 2 hours.... I don't know if any have made it past midnight, and if they have, it was barely and only after a long HU match.

I won't be in for this one. I've decided to take a break from poker, I don't plan on playing again until late September and it sounds like a lot of the games will occur in September. But for the ones in October and I'm not at work, I will be there. Although most of my poker experience is with NLHE and some LHE, I wouldn't mind sucking out on a few people in the other games.
