Default PokerPro electronic tables in Fla.

Interesting press release today ...

"PokerPro, a completely new way of playing poker, utilizes electronic cards
and chips, thus combining the interactive benefits of traditional poker with
the advantages of computer and graphics technology. It is gaining rapid
acceptance among players because it speeds up play and delivers more hands per hour; it eliminates player and dealer mistakes (because there is no dealer);
and it is less intimidating for new players. There's one other monetary
benefit to the player -- no dealer tipping!"

The release says it is installed at the Tampa and Hollywood Hard Rock casinos. TP, pshabi, one of you guys want to give it a try and let us know what you think?

I played those systems once while at the hard rock. I enjoy the monetary aspects and the ability to play more hands per hour, however I am a huge fan of the human aspect of playing poker at a casino. If I remember right the bad beat was hit on one of those machines, but I may be wrong here. If I wanted to play electronic poker I could have stayed at home instead.

personally, i would like to see the best of online and live features combined for the best effect.

namely, in live events, i would like to see stack, pot and bet size amounts being automatically counted and 'displayed' at any given monent. one way to do this, and ive heard of this technology already being developed, is to have poker chips with, well, computer chips inside them, thus allowing for an instant count to be made and shown, kinda like on ur online poker screen.

now, that IMHO would be ideal. preserve all the other aspects of human interaction in live events, minus the IMHO thus far 'tedious' and unneeded aspect of having to count out at any time the stack/pot/bet sizes. of course, the purists and traditionalists out there will vehemently disagree on this, but then again, times change, and so do ppl and circumstances.

I guess I might be a traditionalist but i wouldnt really despise of that. I enjoy the human interaction of poker. I couldnt stand seeing my cards on a computer screen and not having a dealer. I really will not feel as if im playing poker. I think online poker the way we play it is as far as you can take it. If you ask people majoity of them would rather take a live game then online poker. I just cant think of the idea of playing a live game and having your cards dealt to you by a computer and everyone look at their screen for their cards.

I think computerized chips is stll too much, bt i could deal with that. No more the game will be ruined.

well thats just me...

Personally, I'm not sure I'd like it.

I LOVE the feel of the cards, the chips, the table, etc. I don't see this as becoming very popular, but I've been wrong before.

And will again.
