Jet Set Shut Down
Not that it matters, but I read that they had a pop up come up that said, "Jet Set will be shutting down forever in 5 minutes."
And it did!

Pokerstars, FT, UB, and other remaining sites must be licking their chops right now. They could conceivably add 5, or even 6 players from Jetset after this announcement.

jetset
Dear Valued JetSetPoker Customer:
We deeply regret to convey that we shall be discontinuing service at JetSetPoker (the "Site") effective Midnight EST on Friday, October 13, 2006. Initially, and as per our previous statement, we were cautiously optimistic in maintaining operations for our membership after the passage of the "SAFE Port Act HR 4954" on September 30, 2006 by the U.S. Senate. We nonetheless initially believed it to be practicable. However, given the developments during the preceding week, including but not limited to, the unfavorable view of payment processors and financial institutions regarding online gambling and the extensive advice of our legal counsel, we have been instructed to cease activities and comply with this prohibitionist legislation. We were fortunate to have a first-rate membership and it was our pleasure to provide a destination site where members were able to enjoy their favorite card games and tournaments with the surety that we were to buttress the integrity of the forum. In this inclement environment however we believe our ability to do so may become impaired nor do we anticipate this matter to improve in the near future. We once again thank you for your patronage of JetSetPoker and deeply regret these unfortunate circumstances that have materially and adversely impacted both the Site and the industry. Best regards, JetSetPoker Management Team |

So I assume they are letting people cash out without problems, right?
I don't care about JetSet, obviously.... but this does make me worry a little bit about MORE sites unexpectedly caving too. |

yep
eejit is right they are sending everyone a check, which from what I hear is bad since they are sending it in U.S. dollars and overseas guys have to convert it. This is really sad how they did it telling people in a pop up that jetset would be shutting in 5 minutes. |

well
i can kinda understand why they shut down, I dont agree with how they did it but I can understand why.
U.S. players have to make up around 80% of their traffic and the thought of losing U.S. players has to be scarry for them. I still think they jumped the gun alot but if they had a good offer for their site I can see them shutting down. I still think they should of given more notice though. as for them being shady eejit, I still dont believe they fixed their hands like you suggest. |

come on, that site is tiny, 3-4 cash tables going at once. It has a roayal rush jackpot which goes so often its unreal, regular hgue high hand promos. I swear on my life ive had more quads there in less hands than anywhere else in my life.
However, i agree, USA players did account for their money. |
