im back
Ok guys just got back from good old A.C.; it was out of control I had soooo much fun. This may be kind of long, but well worth it.
Ok we got there about 12pm and went to grab a bite to eat 1st. After I convinced my wife she wouldn’t make a fool of herself we headed downstairs to the poker room. We jumped on waiting list for 2/4 limit and it only took a couple minutes to get our seats mainly because there were 11 on waiting list and they started a new table. We sat down I got my wife $100 in $1 chips and $100 for me. This table was very easy there were 2 decent players and the rest were all really bad. My wife impressed the hell out of me, the betting scared her but she stuck in there. I remember only 1 big hand and that was when I was holding 44 or some low pocket. It was raised and re-raised to me, now I was up and thought that if I hit my set im going to make a lot of money in this hand so I went ahead and capped it out. I hit my set on the flop and pretty much took down a really great pot. My wife lost her $100 and by time she was done was down about another $100 but I was up $200 so it was all good. OK the tourney it was $100+ $20 to enter 5k in starting chips and 25/50 blinds to start. I started off great almost doubling up 1st hand. Had two rag suited cards and called the cheap blind to see what happened. Flop came down 2 to my suit and I bet it got 1 caller. Board was also pairing aces, turn completes my flush and dude bets big. Now his bet seemed weird to me like he was scared so I put him on an ace and the flush scared him. I really thought I was good here and called his turn and river bet and took down nice 1st pot. Couple hands later got set of twos and took down another nice pot. Then this hand came up hand 3d2d and guy went all in with small stack and smaller stack called him and small blind called. I asked how much the small blind had and looked over, I did this because I wanted him to think I had a decent hand and check it on flop in case I missed which I did and which he did. Now the turn paired my 3 and I bet it, why I don’t know looking back it was a bad play and he folded and flipped out on me. Oh well pissed someone off no biggie. River paired my kicker and took down a really nice pot then we went on 1st break. Now they allowed 1 add on which I didn’t know they had but since I had nice chip size and really didn’t want to invest another $100 I just went with what I had. Ok so went card dead for awhile now and then I get AK in the big blind, folded around to the small blind and we are down to about 40 players now from the around 65 or so that started and 9 get paid. The small blind pushes all in and its same guy that I pushed out with my 23 earlier. At this point im putting him on an Ace anything maybe a big ace like AJ or AQ. So I call and he flips over QQ bad move by me. I spike A on flop and double up and im one of the chip leaders. Yea I got in a bad spot but I still like my play and think I would make this call against this player more then fold AK here. We get to final 2 tables and I go card dead like hell, don’t run a hand for awhile and blinds keep going up. We go on break and when we get back I get JJ and push all in and take blinds, next hand KK and again I push all in and get blinds. May sound dumb but the blinds were so high I was fine with just taking them. I get Q-x in my big blind and get see flop free and flop 2 pair, guy bets I come over top, not all in but enough to let him know I have good hand. He thinks forever and calls, now before the turn comes out I announce im all in. Turn blanks and he thinks again forever and calls with gutshot and flush draw. He blanks river and I double up. We get to final table with 9 people since two went out same hand on the two tables. 8th and 7th bust out fast and they start talking chop. Chip leader and I disagree seeing as there are 2 really short stacks. The two short stacks double up couple times and we are all about even except for chip leader. We talk chop again and agree to give chip leader 2nd place money of $2,500 and the rest of us $1,750. I personally think the chip leader should have said no seeing as he had tons more chips then rest of us but hey it worked out for me. After that lost $150 on ½ NL, and realized im much better limit player. The good news is I was disciplined enough to get up from that game when it was obvious I was outplayed and outmatched. So went back to 2/4 limit and a bunch of dealers from another casino showed up. These guys were a riot and were friends with one of the dealers there, they were raising every pot capping most of the time. I wanted to have some fun so I played along with them. Yes it was bad play, yes it was dumb but damn it was fun. We were breaking all the poker rules announcing the strength of our hands during the hand. We were having fun though. We would be like I have a pair, well I have a better pair or hey im going to draw to runners and suck out on you. It was fun and was one of the best times I have ever had at a table. Wow that was long sorry if I bored you. |

Very nice tourney cash!
Just counting poker, how much were you up/down at the end of the trip (you w/o wifey)? Also, that last live game you described is exactly why I go through 50 bets swings everytime I play live. You became one of the donkeys! Discipline have ye not! You should've tried to take all their money, not get in their with them. Now that's fun. |

yep
funny part was i did though, yes I was stupid but had small PP and they paid me off with 2 pair when i flopped set, they both had same 2 pair. they capped turn. left that sitting +200. I agree though the times that I did it I shouldnt of but was fun none the less. I tightened up in end but yea should of just played good would of been up more. I brought with me $400 and left just under $2100 so $1700+ give or take a couple dollars. so cash games only up $100 or so, if I wouldnt of played that NL then would of been up cash games almost $300. I have come to conclusion that I suck at NL and should stick to limit. |

u be suprised
im very impressed by her, she layed down alot just didnt get the cards. She missplayed a couple big hands like when she didnt raise preflop with KK but other then small mistakes she did very well and she liked it. she sat with that $200 for about 5 hours, not bad for 1st timer. |
