Live 3/6 session last night. A shorthanded table broke, so the floor consolidated and had us playing 10-handed. There were several big guys, so it was very cramped, especially in my area.

I’m in the small blind, and dealt 10/3 off. It is raised by a player in early position, and he is smooth called by everyone until it gets back around to me. I look down and there is three dollars sitting directly in front of me. Foolish and forgetful, I mistakenly assume that must mean I’m big blind, so I put three more dollars to call the raise, since the pot is over $50 already. This means I’ve inadvertently shorted the pot, which I don’t realize until the actual big blind also calls. Dealer is oblivious.

Flop comes 10/x/3 with two hearts. I lead out, it is raised by the same player, three bet by another player, and I cap. 'Cause two pair = the nuts, obv.

Four of see the turn in what is shaping up to be a sizable bot. Turn is another blank, and fails to complete the flush draw. I lead out, and am called in two places. River is our first overcard, but I lead out yet again. Early player groans and calls, and the other guy folds what must have been a missed flush draw. My ugly two pair cracks his Aces and dealer pushes me the biggest pot of the last hour.

At least I tipped well.
