RobDoral, one of the 3 players that won a ME entry from CNR has stated on 2+2 that CNR has contacted him and committed to pay them anyway. So it appears as if they've stated they're going to pay, but whether they really do or not. They've made at least one of the committed payments now.

So this really is a win-win for the players involved. Poker.com steps in and gives these players the package that other poker.com players received (which was actually worth $1500 MORE than the CNR package. They also have to wear poker.com gear, like the other poker.com winners). CNR is, supposedly, going to pay them the $12K over the next 20 months or whatever.

Even CNR, while this problem is completely their fault, doesn't come away from this looking TOO bad - assuming that they do pay. They agreed to allow poker.com to offer up the packages AND they're still going to pay the prizes out to the winners. Sure, it's still shitty that they even put the winners in this position in the first place, but they could have easily washed their hands of it after poker.com stepped up!
