$2R stands for a $2 rebuy tourney. The nice thing about these ones is that they are turbos with blinds going up every 5 minutes so they don't last long. You only start with 1000 chips and after the rebuy period (30 mins) you can do a final addon of 1500 chips for $2 more.
W$ is an alternate form of currency that PokerStars uses. It is used to buy into certain events (currently can be used to buy into any of the WSOP & WPT events that PS is running). The other alternate currency you may sometimes see referred to on here is T$. These are similar to W$ except they can be used, as far as I know, for any SNGs or MTTs that PS run. There are some people on this forum that are willing to buy T$ and/or W$ should you ever come into them. From the looks of it, they offer VERY good exchange rates.
