Its seems to me that over the past 6 months in many online games with small buyins (upto $50)we now have a mass of players who are playing on instinct (gut feeling).

If the tournaments are re-buys, well then throw away any poker knowledge you have until well into the game.

Poker is now the most played game in the world and because of the possibilities of perhaps winning millions in what the press and media are saying is a very easy game and life, there has been a huge influx from what I can only call CHANCERS. These people now turn up at sites deposit a $1000 or so and then play the game relying on luck.

Unfortunatley some seem to winning and winning lots, but can it last. Ive a feeling it cannot continue. I have a story to tell which is totally true and one that in a way did not shock me when I was told.

Around 3 years ago I started playing online poker, I fell in love with the game and tried to win hands/tournaments using luck, I then got my first pokerbooks and started learning the game.

I remember the first time I ever won a tourny online it was on PS and $10 stud 950 players. I put into place all I read in the books, things like being patient, being agressive and knowing when to throw away.

The feeling was fantastic and yet I still made a deal when down to 2 even though I was many 1000s chips ahead.

Going into work and telling my friends I had won after many months of getting stick and ridicule from them was a great relieve for me and I actually knew then that if I stuck to my poker principiles and use what knowledge I was learning I could do well at poker.

One person I knew was offered £5000 on a credit card, he used this £5000 ($7600) to play poker he would play any games and any cards, He would tell me what he was winning and some nights he was winning $1000 an hour.

I got to know his screenmame and would silently watch this guy, he had no skill or knowledge of poker, he would make bets that either struck him out or earned him lots.

About a year ago I was told by another frien of mine that this guy had gone bankrupt and he had been told that he had spent £20000 on poker.

Now because of a huge change in British Law, people now can declair themselfs bankrupt and have all there debts cleared and all for £200. Owing nothing to creditors, Now thats not a problem but what is that you will only be bankrupt for 1 year at the most, so after your year or in many cases shorter you can then start all over again.

This has led to thousands of players taking a risk and with little respect to either other players or money. Now this cannot continue and in England they are looking into what has been a huge mistake in law and opended the door to many younger players taking risks.

I remember sitting at tournament tbls with THE BEAT - KID BLAST ect and enjoying the game, now I sit on tbls with players called 4uku - and nobED,

NEED I SAY MORE.

THE DAY OF THE CHANCER IS HERE - BUT THEY WONT LAST

Ps - On another note I know will be calling TP, by his real name Mark.
