Here is what I think, and honestly if you show me the logic behind why I am wrong I would welcome the improvement in my game.
If you catch an Ace and only and Ace on the flop you are probably only getting action if you are beat. Let's say you end up with a non intimidating board of A 3 7 8 Q. The only other Aces you can beat are A2 A4 A5 A6 A9 and thats it, assuming the suits don't matter.
Even though that board doesn't represent any trouble as far as a straight is concerned or flush it still doesn't bode well for you. Your really only able to beat 5 hands that should possibly be in the pot with you. Change the Q to a 9 and now you can only beat 4 other Ace holdings assuming some nit wit didn't stay for a runner-runner straight.
I probably don't play enough hands and I am learning to get more agressive so I think you have to raise to force out the Ace/rag hands or at least the 10 5 suited hand or fold with that hand.
Thoughts anyone?
