I find that deal strange. Maybe later this week, when I'm in that situation, I'll be able to explain his thinking.
Seriously though, I consider top=notch stud players extremely smart... there is a lot of information available to them during play, and they certainly have to make the most of it. I'm not sure why he didn't try to win.
Maybe they knew each other.
