Nice theory, but wouldn't that still have worked?  If he's representing and Ace, JJ is still no good. 
  
I honestly think his thought process went like this: 
  
Preflop: 
"Limp because I always do." 
Call Raise - "Maybe I'll flop a straight and stack him!" 
  
Flop: 
"Ohh.... I can make a straight OR a flush!  Sure, I'll call for 90." 
  
Turn: 
{OK, I have trouble with this one.  Maybe...} 
"He's totally bluffing.  I'll call and hope for the chop, since there is no card that can come that would improve my hand to better than playing the board." 
  
River: 
"Ha!  I knew he was bluffing!  But I better check behind, just in case he has an A, K, Q, J, 6 or PP 77+."
