This guy won wsop POY. I think Jeff Lisandro came real real close. And yes, for some reason the ME doesnt count in POY standings. Gordon claimed it was because they wanted to have the presentation during the ME. They had a short presentation just before play resumed after the dinner break. He got a 40K check I think.
