Played in today. It sucked. In the beginning, I erred on the passive side a little bit, but I certainly don't think I played badly at all. To give you an example, I opened from the CO with AJo, Jeff Madsen reraised (to what amounted to about 20% of our stacks), and I folded - that sort of thing. I was moved to three different tables in the span of 4 minutes at one point, which is pretty annoying. Then I was card dead. Then I ran into bigger hands. Then I was out.

I know it's just poker and how it works, but it's frustrating when you're as psyched as I was and playing as well as I have been when you feel like you didn't even have a chance, ya know? Bah.

After that, I sat down in a $5/10 game for a while. , I ended up down a little bit - not much.

After that, I grabbed a bite to eat and just relaxed outside for a while. Then I stood in the satellite (SNGs, basically) line. They were filling a $325 when I got to the front, so I bought into that. Early on, my JJ sucked out on a VERY short stacked KK's all in. It was cool how the hand went down:

He shoves, I call.
Flop is KTx.
I say, "OK, give me a Queen."
Turn is a Queen.
I say, "Cool, now give me an Ace."
River is a 9.

Meh, close enough. The moral of the story is I can't seem to win lately when I get my money in good, so maybe I should start getting it in bad more often!

When we got down to three players, we agreed to give whoever finished third his money back. A couple of hands later, with big blinds, the button (who BARELY had me covered) shoved. I look down and see As7s. I think for a bit and decide to fold. The BB calls and flips up KK. The button shows KQ. Naturally, the flop comes 7xx with 2 spades and the turn AND river are both spades.... If only I would have taken my own advice.

So, heads up, we decided to chop what's left of the prize pool. He has me outchipped something like 11k-4k, and we agreed to split the remaining $2800, $1700/$1100. I'll take it.

As for what's next........... I'm going to play in tomorrow. Rather than feel confident and psyched and feel really good about my game, I'm going to go on record saying I feel terrible, I'm dreading this tourney, I hate the structure, and I'll probably be out really early. Yeah, that's the ticket.
