Just got invited to play in Steve Danneman's Home Game

So before my basketball game I was talking to my coach and somehow we get onto the topic of poker. He tells me that he plays with Steve at his house, and they have a monthly game. I was a bit skeptical until he showed me a text message from Danneman saying he had a 300$ buyin at his house sometime soon. Then after I told my coach that I had recently just won a tournament on stars he proceeded to invite me to join them the next time he has a home game  . Now of course I'm not going to play but i still thought this was pretty cool.

Why do you say you are not going to play?
Too high in money?

300$ buy in is a bit to steep for me lol

you would have a nice chance to make some money... other than Dannerman Im sure the field is pretty weak.

kkirk1329 01-07-07 06:24 PM

the field includes danneman and 5th place finisher in the 2006 Main event, rhett butler, im not sure im ready to play with these guys just yet lol

seriously, cash out $300 from your win. Go. Say please and thank you, don't drink (assuming you are underage), and at the end of the night ask if it would be ok if you got a group picture (this will be the first and only time you take out your camera). Make sure that you are not the last person to go home, thank everyone and have a once-in-a-lifetime home game experience. It is worth $300.

TP and I played with Dannenman in a lil' sit-and-go back in September. Real, real nice guy from what I can remember. I'd play, too. Melioris is right. It would be a great, great story for you and certainly something you'd never forget. Besides, from what I saw of Dannenman, he had a way of making everyone at the table feel pretty cool -- even if they had a minimal bankroll.
Here's the link to that story:

ive decided that if i continue my winning streak, and so far that is looking good, i might be willing to pony up the 300$ to see what i can do. but as of right now, i need to put some of my money away for college, and i just bought an xbox 360, and i do have to pay for a senior week trip to OC with a bunch of my friends, which could cost a bundle, so as of right now, i think i have to pass, although i think it would be a great experience

Your playing with your head and that's greaaaat !!!!!!

Good luck on college and stuff.

It's still a real fun sounding opportunity though
