From the other side

last night I played in one of those Moneymaker $2.5M freeroll 1st rounds. 6200 or so started, and I actually felt I played the best I have in a long time. I did, however, end up moving on to the next level due to a massive suckout with about 80 left(50 get the seat).

Blinds were about 4000/8000/a?

I was in the BB with 84o. One LP limper and the SB completes. I have about 85K left after posting and have the limper covered, but not the SB.

Flop comes A-7-2 rainbow and is checked around

Turn is an 8.

Now, the LP limper would have bet any piece of the board when checked to on the flop, and I was fairly certain the SB would not check an Ace or a pair above 88 twice. So with the pot in the 30K range, when the SB checks, I just shove figuring I want to discourage something like 2 overs and some form of str8 draw from sticking around.

Well I was wrong about the SB, who instantly calls and shows A7. Ugh, I play well and outlast more than 6100 people and now I get to go to bed after a total donkey move.

River is an 8.

SB earns my respect by keeping silent. I busted him 2 hands later.
