WSEX claims to go rake-free

Interesting.

2+2 has a lengthy thread about this as well. Consensus is that is legit, but won't last.

PShabi 04-07-06 01:21 PM

Anybody take a look at this site yet?

MAYHEM45 04-07-06 01:44 PM

Im gonna wait till they have PT and PAHUD support, and the first wave of 2p2ers get paid their rakeback.

SirFWALGMan 04-07-06 01:54 PM

Stupid

I want my site to make profit off of my rake so they do not have to get it elsewhere. I think alot of people have mentioned that some of the reason that a site like a Stars would not cheat is they are making SOOO much fucking money off the rake. I tend to agree and like it that way..

GeoffM 04-07-06 02:01 PM

Might want to read this entire thread before depositing a dime at that site.

MAYHEM45 04-07-06 02:17 PM

Yeah I have my doubts as well, I'll be staying at Party Poker, where the fish are plentiful, and the rake is only 80% ;) .

PShabi 04-07-06 03:11 PM

So what in this thread is supposed to make me not want to deposit?

And if you say "bots" I'll make fun of wrestling.

PShabi 04-07-06 03:16 PM

So, you think they're attracting players to rig the cards and steal money from them? You do realize that this is one THE TOP rated sportsbooks online right? They make millions every year. They have the top reputation for fairness and prompt cashouts.

So, millions isn't enough, they want billions. So, they're going to cheat players? Damn Sir, how's the kool aid taste?

They are offering rake free game to entice players to put a bankroll on their site. They know a lot of poker players are straight up gamblers, so they are hoping to drive people into their sportsbook.

A bunch of players deposit on the site. The site rakes every pot and pays your "rake back" every week/month? So, not only are they making interest off the bankrolls, but the rake too.

Oh yeah, then they get to credit it to your account. Fish love seeing "free" money put up once a week.

This could be huge for online poker. The people who blindly dismiss it are very foolish IMO.

thrash1294 04-07-06 05:02 PM

I have tried it very few players
I deposited $20 the neteller min and am playing $10 nl
have run it to $45 and the site says I have earned $8.26 in rakeback and It will be returned to me on Apr 10th.

Its not a bad site pretty basic a notch above pacific just over 1000 plyr on line at a peak hours. They have a $50 freeroll every 6 hours with no requirements if you want to try it for free take it for what its worth. There is an article in card player but i dont know the link. But in summary the ceo stated its profitable with its sportsbook and due to there customers request they openend the pokeroom to keep their customer base happy.

2Tone 04-07-06 11:20 PM

I'm going to give it a try

I've read through most of the 2+2 posts, and if they are using bots, it doesn't sound like they are very good ones. As for the site being rigged, it strikes me as being very doubtful. I don't know what it costs to run enough servers to support a poker site, but I could see that if that generates enough action for their sports book, it's a +EV move. With no rake to distribute, I doubt they have much of an affiliate program, but do you have a link we should use TP?

Talking Poker 04-08-06 12:16 AM

Let me get back to you tomorrow, ok?

GeoffM 04-12-06 12:56 PM

I don't think the site is rigged, however a bot is a bot. 1 person in particular used pokertracker and saw 2 of the bots playing for 48 consecutive hours. That's beyond addiction IMO.

Spuddy 04-12-06 01:15 PM

Things that seem to good to be true....... usually are......

Talking Poker 04-13-06 01:02 AM

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'll play NL bots any day of the week. Bring em on. Limit bots would be a different story, but GL finding a NL bot that can beat an above average poker player (basically, anyone capable of mixing up their play well). Not gonna happen.

And sorry I forgot to get back to you, 2Tone.... looks like thay don't even have an affiliate program. At least I couldn't find one.

eejit101 04-13-06 01:03 AM

WPEX doesnt have an affiliate program. You need to email them for some kind of information as far as i know.

However id love to play NL bots. It would take YEARS to program them to play like any good player, but the one NL thing it will never have is instinct, gotta have that i reckon

Boobie Lover 04-13-06 01:41 AM

Mike Caro created some HU no limit bot back in the 80s. It got beat by Bob Stupak. Enough said.

bunny 04-13-06 03:50 PM

I've just downloaded it, creating a new account and there's a space for bonus code.

Anyone have a bonus code for this one?

thrash1294 04-13-06 05:24 PM

I did get paid my rakeback:)

fish pond so far and thats from a donkey

bunny 04-13-06 05:32 PM

When you registered, did you have a bonus code?

MAYHEM45 04-13-06 06:17 PM

Does it matter? Isn't NO RAKE the ultimate bonus anyway?

eejit101 04-13-06 07:15 PM

i agree. Id prefer a good rakeback deal to anything cash wise they offer. Working it out, your getting what, $10 per 100 hands on average. so $0.10 a hand. Your getting that back if you even see a flop.

MAYHEM45 04-13-06 09:44 PM

at 400NL(6max) its actually around 23c per hand played

Holy shit. Thats 3 PTBB/100 that could be added to my winrate. Rake is such a cockblock.

thrash1294 04-14-06 05:04 PM

I did not use a bonus code but I heard the one posted on a few sites has expired.

my screenname is thrash1294 stop and say hi if you see me at the tables:p

Aequitas58 04-14-06 06:08 PM

From what I hear about WSEX, the player base is far too small to be profitable to instantly switch. I've heard (again, from players who have new accounts at WSEX), that there are more profitable games at bigger sites w/ more fish.

WSEX's problem (I assume) is justifying spending the money on promotions and advertising (to build a player base) when they aren't going to be increasing revenue as a result. Essentially, it's what Shabi said: it's an offer to get people on their website, but I doubt we're going to see TV ads and multiple WSOP seat package giveaways.

That's my $.02,

thrash1294 04-14-06 07:39 PM

True very few players max I have seen is 1200 and that was with a 600 player max freeroll going. But hopefully over time it will pick up.Ther are definetly bigger fish games out there ,Pacific right off the top of my head:cool: The problem with pacific is you cant multi table.wsex is not a site to move your whole bankroll to but may be worth the $20 min deposit.
