Biggest $$ suckout Ive ever had

5/5 NL Cash Game. $755 in front of me

Two limpers, I look down to see Pocket Queens, I raise the blinds to 35 (standard raise was 25-30...I accounted for the limpers). The person to my left calls as do both limpers.

Obviously Im not happy about 3 callers, and tell mysel fIm pushing hard on the flop if no A or K comes. They don't.,... it comes 4h 6d 8c. Limpers check. $115 I announce and throw it in. The person to my left raises me $115 more....limpers fold

Read: Very aggressive player, overplays hands, bluffs, steals

I am 99.9 % sure I have the best hand here....sure I could be up against 57 or a set, but I know this player and Im sure Im ahead.

"$300 more on top of that"

I have $190 left after the 300 raise. He asks me how much I have left...I tell him....OBVIOUSLY im committed here and he knows this...he moves me in I call

He has 8d 5d

Yup, Top pair with a 5 kicker, and a gutshot (backdoor flush draw I guess also)

Of course the turn pairs 4s and the river pairs 8s

"I shake my head in disbelief...I tell the rest of the table that the funniest thing is he wasnt tryin to gamble...he really thought his 8 with a 5 kicker was good....and he really did, I know it

I had to give the Greg Raymer speech that he gave to Aaron Kanter after his horrendous suck out at the WSOP when my opponent shrugged his shoulders and flipped his hands with that "oh well shit happens" type look

"Well... you tried your best to give me all your money, guess your best wasnt good enough"

1600 dollar swing right there... I wound up walking +160 for the night

imagine what I should of walked with...

Sick, isn't it?

I seem to go through that ALL THE TIME. They try and try to give me all their money, putting it all in as huge dogs.... but more often than not (or so it seems), they hit their miracle.

At least this guy wasn't THAT big of a dog. Yes, it's annoying that he though he was ahead (I agree with you), but he wasn't THAT far behind...

yea he had 9 outs on me plus a backdoor flush draw, so he wasnt that bad at all... the frustrating part, like you said, is he really thought he had the best hand when all the money went in, he wasnt trying to gamble
