Hold em Puzzle
Found this on the web, good question.
Assume you have a 10 player table and all 10 players call at the river. What is the worst possible 5-card hand that could take down the pot w/ no splits? List player cards and the board. I'll post the answer later on today. |
Ok, I gave that about 2 minutes.......WAY to much thought required. I'll wait for the Cliff's Notes :D

i believe that trip queens is the lowest nut hand that you can have, but i dont think that this is the answer to the question.
you can rule out high card here, and there cant be a flush or a straight, so i would assume that it is something like top pair, top kicker. i am also assuming that this is supposed to be a purely hypothetical, and you dont have to think of a legitimate reason for someone to stay in the hand. edit: thinking about it some more, you might be able to have high card and still win. board:23457 winner: QJ losers: QT, Q9, Q8, JT, J9, J8, T9, T8, 98 |
Close, but not quite.
Here's a hint, the board does not contain a 6 or 5. :D |
ah, ok. that way you can have a hand like J6 and not make a straight with it. ok.
well, i think i was on the right track, just a little bit off. |
Board: 2 3 4 7 8
Winner KJ Losers: 59, 59, 59, 59, 6T, 6T, 6T, 6T, QJ hmmm... i guess i'm wrong seeing that last post |
Incorrect, but getting warmer.
|
Is this right?
1.J6 2.J5 3.J5 4.J5 5.T5 6.T6 7.T9 8.T9 9.96 10.96 Board is 23478 Winning hand is J8764. |
