I was just wondering, wuts the MOST you guys have:

WON during a year from playing poker ?

LOST in a year playing poker?

Lost? - Never had a losing year (year 2 in progress :D )
Won? - Ask me again in December, this year will destroy last year. Actually I made the same amount last month as I did all of last year.

I'm hoping for 15k this year.

Made maybe 100 bucks last year with little seriousness playing. I was down $50 online and up more than that in home games. This year is when i started seriously online and I am probably up 400, and depending on how the rest of this contest we are having goes add that.

i started playiing online last year right when i turned 18 and won probably 300 last year, this year I'm probably only up $150 but think i will end up about $1000.

and so far havent had a losing year :)

I started playing with nickels and dimes at the age of 14.

So, I have been in the game for approximately 11 years now. During that time, I have had losing sessions, but as a whole, I can honestly say I have never had a losing year (I say this with confidence and no records).

This year is the big year as well, much like Pshabi. I have slowed considerably with my online play, but I still hope to make somewhere in the area of 5-7.5K. I have already made over 3, so just a matter of being able to find time to play (studying is a bitch ain't it Lou?).

The importance of records

Geoff, if you hit your goal you'll have made considerably more than I will for '05, so any advice comes with a grain of salt.

But why not keep records? I find them extremely helpful, letting me know in black and white exactly how I am doing in tourneys vs live play, month over month. It only takes a couple of minutes to drop a few numbers into Excel, and before long you have a wealth of info at your fingertips.
