Is it possible to just be born unlucky enough that you shouldn't play cards?

When I tell you I get my chips in as the favorite all the time I am not kidding. These three hands happened IN A ROW

KK vs JJ Loser

AK vs AT Loser

Rest of my chips all in with KQs vs JTo flop KQT turn J river J, yep a 2 outer, a 3 outer then runner runner J's for a boat.

Is it possible some people just shouldn't play? I am considering retirement after this one.

hmmmm

I doubt it but dont think you should quit because having a stroke of bad luck for now. Ive read your posts in past and you have done fine, I think this run will pass and you will be right back on top where you where. If this has been going on for like months then maybe you are cursed with bad luck. Give it time see what happens.

The funny thing is when this stuff happens ALOT you honestly know better than to believe in bad luck, but you still sit and wonder.

I'm not sure if this is God telling me I am not allowed to play cards or if it's gonna feel that much better when I finally win a big one (or have the big one).

Time will tell, but right now it ain't looking good. Honestly you really can't do much more than get your chips in with the best of it, can you?

there is such a thing as bad luck, and if you have it... sorry. i consider myself at least middle of the pack in terms of luck, so the more skill you can add to your luck the better. but...if your skill is good and you have terrible luck you'll never win.

not saying you should quit.... just saying if you really DO have bad luck you should consider it.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm killing all the games I've played since the start of June.

Actually, I've never been running better than I am in the last 5 days.

So, I have absolutely no idea what the fuck you're going through.

Just thought you might like to know.

Normally I would go all freaky nuts here, but good for you, keep taking them down.

PShabi 06-05-05 07:16 PM

LOL, thanks. Ever consider limit hold 'em. Keeps you "off the ledge" a little bit more IMO.

It is time to take a long break if you are thinking "luck" is against you.
Everyone runs bad in this game.
I had a horrible last 2 weeks.
It turned around though within the last few days.

I am a firm believer that people make their own luck.
Think positive and believe in yourself and you will find that "luck" is on your side more times than not.

"Good luck"
ChipFish.

Haven't watched it yet... Going to the Theatre with Poppa ChipFish tomorrow.
Then I'll probably watch it 2 times a day on DVD :)

The last 3 times I've held A-A I've lost two of them (big) and the other time I got no callers... stuff like that just happens in this game. But, even with those loses my bankroll's been growing, slowly, but growing. Just gotta find a way to forget those hands and move on.
