My First Win!!

Put some $$ in at Party (my 1st online deposit ever) and after a few tournaments w/o finishing in the $ or just a small 3rd place payout, I played and won a 3 table 30 person $5-1 (I know, small potatos compared to most here, but I am just starting out!) tournament last night and finished 1st!! Felt great to get that first win. Was very proud of my play... was very patient and stuck to playing only top hands. When we got to the final table I was probably #8 on the chip leaderboard (probably had about 1,500 in chips with the chip leader just over 9,000), stayed very patient and watched a bunch of loose players get knocked out... did make a couple nice moves and got my stack up around 4,500 when we were down to about 5-6 players. Then stayed patient and finallly got heads-up with the chip leader who probably had a 4 to 1 lead on me. Played smart and got him to enter pots with me where I was the favorite... the momentum really swung my way and I eventually took over the lead and finally won with a pocket pair! Only a $45 payout but since I only started the account with $50, it was a great feeling!! :D

Just call me the low roller!! LOL!

congrats

Well done, low roller! Let the addiction begin :D

Make sure you clear the bonus by playing low-limit ring games. Check your bonus account on the cashier screen and it will tell you how many raked hands you need to complete your bonus and get the free bonus cash. Tournaments do not factor into clearing the bonus.

Nicely done

Thanks for the tip... I'll look into that. Only problem is, I'm not that strong of a ring-game player... might lose my tiny little bankroll chasing the bonus! LOL! :D

Another tip: The $5+1 tournies are a ripoff, as a rule stick to those with no more than a 10% 'fee' (notice the $10 tournies are also $1 fee).

That's a good point... was just trying to make my money last since it was a small $50 deposit to begin with. But now that I've got some extra to play with I'll start to stick to the $10+1 tournaments. Thanks for the tip!

Nice to see a Cubs fan here! I used to live about 10 blocks from Wrigley and would go to tons of games each season... now living in Fla I'm stuck watching them on WGN. :( But, I did get back up there last summer and took my boys (4 & 9) to their first ever trip to Wrigley on Father's Day, was heaven on earth!
