tables at the bike

Anyone here played at the bike? I am not sure if it is on all tables, but the ones they use for 'live at the bike' have these great card shufflers built into the tables. They pop up when you hit a button, you switch to a freshly shuffled deck, and then it closes flat on the table!! Where can I get one of these?

Sounds cool. Bet they cost a fortune.

I didn't see 'em

I played at the Bike about two months ago while in LA on business. I don't remember seeng those -- but maybe putting them on the 3/6 tables wasn't first priority.

Considering they use them at the casinos up here with a $5 max bet, I doubt they're THAT expensive. :D

I found some, they're called "deck mate". I think part of shuffle master. But all I found was a site with product lines etc. No specifics, or even prices or ordering info. Weird. I would love to get one and put it in a homemade table!!

Not good for the game

I have played in many casinos with these and I think they are crap. You actually only get about 4 more hands per hour (by my count)...if they are working properly. When they malfunction, which is often, you lose about 5 minutes while the dealer tries to get the cards out of the machine. Then you lose 5 more minutes while the dealer gets a new set up. A good dealer can easily keep pace or even deal faster than these machines. At some casinos, the dealers are required to shuffle at least once after they retrieve the cards. I usually look for tables that don't have these machines.

In a casino with a pro dealer... ya I guess that makes sense. but for a home game, I think it would be the bomb. Any idea where to get these, and how much $?

I just saw a little feature on these things on the Heads Up Tourney on NBC... They look pretty cool (assuming they work, of course).
