Geoff, wish me luck
8th place out of 30 left in the PokerStars Hi/Lo game that started at 5:00. 23K in chips.
|
OK, maybe not in as great shape as I thought, but there are some small stacks ready to go:
Stack: largest 51717, smallest 2481, average 17689 Your current position is 8 out of 29 Time bank balance is 60 seconds Stakes 3000/6000 so the smaller guys shouldn't last long. |
Two tables left
Stack: largest 63049, smallest 990, average 28500
Your current position is 9 out of 18 Time bank balance is 60 seconds in 4 min stakes 4000/8000 |
Stack: largest 55906, smallest 8364, average 32062
Your current position is 1 out of 16 Time bank balance is 60 seconds in 2 min stakes 4000/8000 |
Nice, dude. Keep on rolling!
|
How many places get paid and what's first prize?
|
36 get paid, small buy $5 so first is only $427 When playing on a small bankroll it's more about winning than just the cash, though 4 bills wouldn't hurt matters.
|
One hand sure changes things
Stack: largest 69722, smallest 2114, average 39461
Your current position is 6 out of 13 Time bank balance is 60 seconds in 9 min stakes 6000/12000 |
playing 5 handed as only 11 are left, this part is hard. Always seems like your posting a blind and at these levels they cut into your stack a bit.

nail biter

Flopped top 2 pr and someone stayed for the straight which of course they got on the river, all but over, I'll finish 10th.
|
Backed in
Made the final table, but it could have been so much better, and should have been if not for a horrible couple of calls by a guy drawing to an inside straight and catching it.
Stack: largest 104484, smallest 5812, average 57000 Your current position is 9 out of 9 Time bank balance is 60 seconds in 12 min stakes 8000/16000 |
9th, busted out with a set, not really a strong hand in hi/lo but you take what you get when your the small stack, big blind made his flush on the river. Can't complain as he was obligated to call.
|
Damn, if I had caught this sooner I would have railed you, but fortunately I'm having a field day on Empire at the 1/2 6 handed tables, whilst clearing a decent bonus. :D
Good job dude, we'll have to join the same tourney some time, oh and stick to low limit O8, players just give their money away, it's our little secret ;) . |
It is tough to get use to 5 or 6 handed O8 in the beginning, but now I find myself lost at 10 handed tables.
