Next TPFI Proposal

OK, well the last 2 were on the last Sunday of the month. I still say, despite it being Easter (how many of the participants are Catholic anyway?), we should still run it. I propose maybe just a later start time, like say 8 or 9 ET. I'd be fine with that, or even 10ET. These things don't run longer than what, maybe 2 hours? Anyway, any thoughts? I want to play in 1, so if this were the time of the next one, I'd surely be home Sunday nights and I have Monday off so I'd be drunk and easy money to boot :D .

This works for me. What do other people think?

GeoffM 03-08-05 01:23 PM

Just so everyone knows, I'll be drinking Hill's that weekend, a form of absynthe, so indeed, Geoff will be pretty messed up, and if your lucky a riot on the chat box.

omahilo 03-08-05 01:28 PM

Easter Sunday is fine with me... just up to everyone else.

junYUN 03-08-05 01:40 PM

i wouldn't be able to do it -- after the family obligations it's the girlfriend obligations.

PShabi 03-08-05 02:28 PM

I thought we started earlier last time for the Europeans? 8 or 9 ET is late over there.

Also, you don't have to be Catholic to celbrate Easter you blithering idiot. :D

Tony Cheval 03-08-05 05:10 PM

I have no plans for Easter, so I'm good with whatever.

nutbag 03-08-05 08:36 PM

4-5 would be better for me, because of the time difference(I can play in the morning before starting work at noon)

bdawg31 03-08-05 10:31 PM

no way for me

there is NO WAY i can play poker on easter. If you all have it on Easter - i will think of some creative bounty to put up for grabs to keep the tradition going.

ChipFish 03-09-05 12:39 AM

No poker on Easter....
And why are we listening to the trashtalker who hasn't played in one yet????
Yes, I am looking in your direction Geoff!

TP, a little advice... you are looking for a decent turnout, you haven't broken 20 players yet... playing on a major holiday, around Easter dinner time is not going to help.... but it's your call.

Talking Poker 03-09-05 02:46 AM

I agree.... I could make it, but I think we need to pick a different time. Is that whole weekend shot for most people? Should we have a tourney during the week for a change? Maybe the previous Thursday - the 24th? I realize this means it would be an evening one and would kill the European crowd, but I don't think any of them played last time anyway...

drewjax 03-09-05 08:09 AM

I would vote to have it after Easter weekend altogether. What about a friday night? I play in a live game on Sat. nights, as I am sure some others do as well. Do any of you play regularly on friday nights? I know some of you have regular hot dates with alcohol on fridays, but.......
Maybe 7et or so? That way the Euros could possible still play. Just a thought.

GeoffM 03-09-05 08:23 AM

ChipFish, I am a DrinkFish, 3 on Sundays I'm still waking up or in some cases still drunk.

Friday night? Those are even worse :( .

GeoffM 03-09-05 03:55 PM

Saturday afternoon? I don't know, maybe around 4ish or so. Be cool to watch NCAA and play poker at the same time.

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 04:21 AM

isnt that

like liquid weed!

GeoffM 03-11-05 08:21 AM

No, I smoke my share of dope too.

Actually, I'm buying a bottle of Hill's on Easter weekend. 90 bucks for a 26er, 70% alcohol and has many absynthe qualities to it. I'll be hopping like the Easter Bunny all weekend :D .
