I get it in bad sometimes too...
This guy was HORRIBLE and would make this play with a ton of hands I have crushed. I'd honestly say he's bluffing with air here, drawing to 2 outs or running cards 60% of the time or more.
Naturally, THIS TIME (I had let so many close hands go only to have him show me that I had him crushed) he has me drawing to 2 outs. Ooops. BUT I HIT and have him drawing to just ONE out!!! You know what that means: Full Tilt Tournament game, buy-in $200 + 10 Heads Up Sit & Go (45157258), $10/$20 No Limit, 2 players Hand History by BB: T$1500 HERO (Button): T$1500 HERO postsBB posts Big Blind T$20 Pre-flop: 6:h: A:h: (T$20) HERO raises to T$60 BB raises to T$100 <-- Has been dong this minraise 3 bet thing with junk all day. I have yet to see him show a premium hand after this. HERO calls T$40 Flop: 9:c: 9:h: A:d: ($200) BB checks HERO bets T$150 BB raises to T$300 <--Has been doing this min check raise with crap all day too. I'm hoping he has an Ace or some pair, but expect him to fold. HERO raises to T$1400 and is all in BB calls T$1100 and is all in Turn: 9:c: 9:h: A:d: A:s: (T$3000) HERO River: 9:c: 9:h: A:d: A:s: 9:d: (T$) HERO BB shows 9:s: J:s: BB wins T$3000 with four of a kind Nines |
why would you shove the flop? you're folding out all the air hands and it's impossible for him to call with worse.
I'd probably check this flop a lot since I think most people are more apt to bluff that way than to check/raise too. |
Actually, IMO, this villain snap calls with all PPs and quite possible K high type hands. Seriously.
But you're right... Flop shove was still a clear mistake. A flop bet/call definitely would have been better, getting it in after he lead the turn or even letting him fire the river too. I don't like checking behind though - against most people, sure, but not against this guy. He was a check raise bluffing fool, so I have to bet when I hit. It allows him to bluff more. |
