How I'am doing

Just thought I would give a update how I'am doing lateley, If you dont care then no need to read. Some have shown intrest so this post is for them.

starting bankroll: $80

It started out pretty rocky, I tried playing those low limit no limit tables like .05/.10 and .10/.25 but god are they boring. Finally found a nice level at .25/.50 NL, however I really dont have a bankroll for this level and lost a little bit this morning to take my bankroll from $160 to $120 even with me clearing a $20 bonus.

I actully didnt get mad, this is new to me Im finally getting control of my emotions. Even though I lost alot of the pots when I had the best hand when the money went into the pot I still wasnt mad.

So what to do now im sitting here looking at my $120 roll which 1-2 hours ago was at $200. So I went to the $1/$2 LIMIT games and god where they awsome. Very very soft games, played at those table for about 2 hours and moved my roll up to $217. Im not sure if my roll is really good for $1/$2 but I think it is, I usually buy in for the minimum of $20 then if I lose a hand or two Ill move it back up to $20 by adding on. I really like playing with other peoples money....well thats my report thanks for reading.

You need to sit down at a 1/2 table with more than 10 big bets.

Well, I'm in a bad mood.

Anyway, you've posted the same basic thread about 200 times. Not to mention, you've supposedly read all of these books and whatever yet you think $120 is a good bankroll for 1/2. $600 would be more along the line of a good roll here, but you'll probably tell me, "I know, I just wanted to hear what you guys had to say, because I respect the posters here to pieces."

10 BB buy in? When I played at the 1/2 level last year, I rarely saw anyone do that, but when they did, it was a sure sign that they were a terrible player.

any level of play, your bank roll should be 250x the bb so you can handle the
ups and downs
just my opinion

Bankroll

The rule of thumb is 10xBB.

My rule of thumb is more then the chip leader. :)

10 BB may be the minimum buy-in at most cardrooms, but most people who play successfully know that you want to buy-in for more like 25X the big bet in LIMIT games.

You must be talking buy-in amount and not bankroll, right? Most pros say you should have 300BBs in your bankroll, but you can take a "shot" at it (meaning move back down if you don't start off well) with as little as 100 BBs.

This guy knows what he's talking about. :)
