New software to compete with PT
 

Due to launch in a week or two. Looks pretty fuckin awesome. Hopefully rvg lets it cross link to my already humongous PT databases, because I sure as hell dont have all my HH anymore.

For about 2 years, I've been expecting someone to create a new and improved alternative to Poker Tracker.

This looks really kick ass.

I too hope it can convert PT hands. There is no reason it shouldn't be able to, but expect it to take a LONG time to do so.

I predict this software goes for $100 and I predict this guy sells assloads upon assloads of them.

Hi, unfortunately not... I guess an analogy would be, imgine you have a 10 megapixel image (ie the original hand history) and then you convert it to grey scale, drop it down to 800x600 and save it as a gif. No matter what you do you can't bring it back to that 10 megapixel image.

If I imported from the PT database structure without hand histories there would be way too much data missing which would make most of the stats misleading and in most cases outright wrong...

So, save your hand histories!!!

I just checked and I have 13,094 HH files (that's FILES - not HHs) dating back to late 2005. Many of those are from tourneys and datamining, I'm sure (stuff I don't so much care about), but that should also cover MOST of my play from at least 2006 forward.

Of course, tons of those are going to be from unsupported sites or an old format of the HH that may not be supported any longer... who knows. I would think this would be a pretty big issue for him though, so he should try to be as accomodating with this as possible.

I also don't understand how he can't put together an export that runs through our PT HH tables, pulling the data back out into Format X which he could then use as input into his program. I mean, all the info is there. You know how you can "Replay" a hand in PT and see the HH? That's all that would need to be done - but for ALL of the hands in your database.

Yes, it would take ages, but it should be doable.

Isn't there a way in pokertracker that you can export previous raw hand histories from a database back into the original raw hand histories?

this is great and looks nice I just hope he does flat fee and does not go the pokeroffice route and try to charge A yearly recurring fee.

Utilities-Export Hand Histories to file...

Failing that the raw hh files are stored in the DB for your own hands and observed hands as long as you don't check the box telling it not to store those. If need be I can walk anyone through manually extracting the data out of the database (as long as you're using postresql).

Competition = Good.

Downloaded holdemmanager tonight and I am VERY impressed. Haven't worked out the hud yet, but this is a lot better than PokerTracker.

Out of curiosity for others that are using holdemmanger, anyone want to tell their 3bet %? Mine is 6% for 5+ players.

How much is this software going to cost?

$65 for just the pokertracker part. $35 for the hud part. $95 for both combined.
