NBA Playoffs Own!

Dear Forum,

OMG Baron Davis

Truly Yours,
Fung

JDMcNugent7 04-30-07 01:39 AM

god that was so sick.
this is the first year im really gettin into the NBA mainly cuz of new friends down here that are obsessed. Before I was always into college and thought the NBA just went through the motions, but they really are so damn good.

lightfungus 04-30-07 01:42 AM

Dude, you have no idea. I got into it about 3 years ago the same way meeting some friends and all...then I went to an NBA playoff game...because of the draft class of 2003 the NBA is back to where it was when Jordan played, IMO. We have a wonderful next 10 years ahead of us in this league.

I LOVE THIS GAME.

no joke.

Ando05 04-30-07 02:00 AM

NBA IS THE SHITTTTT, that was the sicckesssttt game how about baron davis makin that half court shot, i really hope they take down the series and show dallas that they are not all that, and wow to steve nash 23 assists!!!!!!!! dayummmmm, i really want AI to win a championship though so im hopin nuggets come together and somehow win the impossible series against san antonio

p.s how about chicago sweeepin the def champs, lol wowwww

lightfungus 04-30-07 02:17 AM

I called the Nuggets before the series started, and my fingers are still crossed. And don't say Dallas is overrated, because they won that many games for a reason. They are stacked and are a great team with a coach that is going to be around for a long time. What you should be chanting is underrated...because thats what the Warriors are. The squad that is on the floor now was hardly together this season. Harrington and Jackson didnt join them till the trade deadline and Davis has been hurt on and off this season I believe...they finished the season something like 9-1 just to make the playoffs. Their defense is stifling, and Don Nelson's gameplan has been masterfull. I really feel like Dallas is getting outcoached...and that isn't a shot at Avery but more a boast about Don. But you gotta face it, Dallas crumbles under pressure, like they did in the Finals last year. They aren't quite tough enough mentally in my mind, but we will see. The series isn't over at all, if Dallas wins the next one they have just as good of a shot to take this series as if it was 0-0 again.

Unfortunately my raptors are struggling (go CB), and the Bulls are annoying and Nocioni can lick my balls, but Deng is a beast and is going to be good in this league. Bye bye LA. Cavs will get whooped by Detroit IF they get past NJ.

If Mavs lose to Golden State, I think Houston wins it all. Print it. Otherwise Mavs win, because Pistons don't realize how much they lost in Big Ben. PHX and SA beat up on each other if they meet, but if it is Nuggets/Suns then its gg Nuggets, and we see the Suns and Houston in a toss up (I am biased cuz I want TMAC to win something, but the suns are a bad matchup for Houston), so when they meet Houston after Yao goes to town on the centerless golden state, they will be too tired to hang with the force that is TMAC.

Just some thoughts.

I am a huge ball fan too.

What I don't like is 6'10, 270 lb. PF flopping on the ground like an Italian premier soccer league striker when he gets bumped by a 5'10, 165 lb. PG.

Ando05 04-30-07 05:22 PM

i know the golden state still has not won the series but i really want them to win , but i gotta disagree with you in the championship contender area cuz i really think phoenix will take it down. they got amare studmire and kurt thomas this year, i def puttin my money on them, though i still want nuggets to go all the way

lightfungus 05-06-07 12:37 AM

FUCK ME. Damnet Tracy, hit those shots at the end. And SOMEONE stop Boozer from getting "easy" layups.

SLOW DOWN, TAKE A DEEP BREATH, AND TRY TO GRASP REALITY..............

lightfungus 05-07-07 11:41 AM

haha, ok.

drewjax 05-07-07 01:37 PM

kidding mostly of course.

Lebron is unreal, there are some unbelievable athletes playing now, and I LOVE watching Nash play.

But, when Kobe Bryant is considered maybe the best all around player.....

No way the NBA is as good as it used to be. The 10-15 year period between the early 80's and the mid 90's is the standard by which all should forever be measured.

I basically can only stand the playoffs now.

Reel Deal 05-07-07 01:42 PM

Bird - Magic - Jordan... that will never be topped.

Ando05 05-07-07 09:17 PM

the league was more competitive back then, now there is only like 5-6 good teams in the league that have a chance at championship, where back then all the teams were good, and more competitive

drewjax 05-07-07 10:47 PM

I agree with this for the most part. Teams like Milwaukee in the 80's were a VERY good team. The 76ers could have been a dynasty if not for the Celtics (and Lakers). Later on in Jordans prime, teams like Utah, Portland, maybe the Knicks etc. were good teams who would compete for championships every year if they played in todays NBA.

PShabi 05-07-07 11:34 PM

Don't forget about Seattle with Gary and Kemp in their prime.

Akverno 05-08-07 12:01 AM

I'm sorry, I just can't watch a sport where multiple teams under .500 make the playoffs, and people think that the no child left behind act rewards mediocrity.

College and High School basketball, I can dig that.

Edit: Apparently two teams pulled out from under 500 and broke even.

drewjax 05-08-07 01:25 AM

Meh. They were good of course, but I was never a Payton fan. I was a huge Chris Jackson fan (before he went off the deep end and became M. Abdul-Rauf or whatever:eek: ).

I loved it when CJ, Mutombo, Robert Pack et.al. and the Nuggets knocked off the Sonics in that memorable first round.

It actually saddens me to think back about CJ. He was a phenom in his 2 years at LSU. I mean like scary good. Not just with his jumper, but his all around game. So quick, could dribble thru people at full speed, pull up in a flash or dish it off. Seriously, if you can ever catch any of his games from then, do yourself the favor and watch them.

There have been teams in the last 20 years or so, that you can say would have had the potential to be a dynasty had they stayed together (no early NBA entrants). That LSU team might lead the pack. Chris Jackson, Stanley Roberts, Vernell Singleton, and....oh ya.....Shaq! Holy crap, if they would have been together for 2 more seasons.......
Oklahoma with Waymond Tisdale comes to mind as well.

Reel Deal 05-08-07 09:44 AM

I'd have like to have seen Zach Randolph and Jason Richardson together for more than one year at Michigan State.

sjay2k 05-08-07 11:16 AM

i come here to watch the mavs and they get eliminated before i even make it to texas

dgjklsdgdfslgnkdfgkldg

Ando05 05-09-07 12:05 AM

Reel Deal 05-09-07 09:02 AM

Look at the positives, now you can skip Texas and see a better part of the country.

lightfungus 06-01-07 12:00 AM

O.....M......G.

That was history baby.

The Lebron Era is upon us.

Sooooo sick.

drewjax 06-01-07 01:12 AM

"that boys got talent"

Lebron is a boy among men, and just may be the best of them all.

Unreal.
