Who wants a(nother) free $50???

***** Please note. Due to an unexpected cut in my affiliate commission from Titan, this offer is now for $40 instead of $50, effective 9/5/05. Those of you who took me up on it before I put the offer on hold on 9/5 will still be paid the full $50, but going forward, I can only pay $40. This is still a can't lose offer for you, and Titan has been giving nearly everyone $10 free for making their first deposit, so this is still a great deal. Read on for the details *****

Those of you who took me up on my are familiar with this deal already. This is essentially the same deal, but a little bit sweeter...

was officially launched yesterday (brought to you by the people who brought you Noble Poker, before selling it to Empire), and because they are aggressively trying to get players, here is my offer for you:

1. Follow my link to Titan Poker:
2. Download their software and create an account.
3. Make at least a $20 deposit (they will match this deposit 100% up to $500, so it would be wise to deposit more).
4. Play for a while (This step is optional, but they need to make money too, so please give their site a try).
5. PM me with your Titan account name, the date you signed up, how much you deposited, and your screen name, and once I confirm your deposit, I will transfer you $40.

That's it! Once again, this is a "can't lose" offer for you guys, but that's not all...

BONUS: Everyone who takes advantage of this offer during the month of September will be invited to play in a $300 freeroll, exclusive for TalkingPoker.com members, provided we have at least 15 people who qualify. The freeroll will be on Thursday, October 6th at 9:00 PM ET, so mark your calendars now.

This offer is good until further notice, but in order to play in the freeroll, you need to be a depositing player by the end of September.

Let me know if you have any questions.

-TP

junYUN 09-02-05 01:14 PM

can i sign up for this if i already have a noble account?

Talking Poker 09-02-05 01:37 PM

Absolutely. This is a completely different site, not a "skin."

BrianSwa 09-02-05 02:45 PM

Ok

Doh! I'm an idiot. Somehow I missed the PokerStars reference the first time I read it.

Edited to removed already answered question.

Reel Deal 09-04-05 02:14 AM

As soon as my withdrawal from Noble hits Neteller I'll be taking you up on this TP. Thanks!

GeoffM 09-04-05 02:41 AM

Me too. I'll actually play there now probably thru their bonus.

Talking Poker 09-04-05 02:46 AM

I can't believe Aeq hasn't jumped on this yet. This would be a major boost for his Eggroll! Surely the boy can scrape up a $20 bill via some chess hustling, right?

Aequitas58 09-04-05 03:23 AM

Thanks. I think I'm holding out for a rakeback deal. GL w/ the freeroll.

Talking Poker 09-04-05 11:26 AM

LOL... Are you even serious? I assume you are kidding.

Somehow I don't picture you playing enough hands on Titan to earn $50 in rakeback any time soon (instead of clearing always available bonuses elsewhere)... and certainly not with 0 risk like this. But to each their own.

BrianSwa 09-04-05 12:31 PM

yep

I hope he is kidding also, honestly this is a hell of a deal and glad I got the chance to jump on this one. I was really misslead when you offered the one on noble but after being part of this one im very thankful.

Talking Poker 09-04-05 12:51 PM

I'm not sure exactly what you are saying about the Noble deal, but to clarify, *I* didn't mislead anyone. Did you type the wrong word there, maybe, or was it someone else who mislead you? I got many thank yous from the people who took me up on that deal, which is why I'm excited to be able to offer it again here.

As I recall, the reason you didn't take me up on it was because you already had a Noble account. Titan is a brand new site, so no one should have that problem this time around...

BrianSwa 09-04-05 01:13 PM

agreed

no I midlead myself on the noble deal and argued with you when either kirk or mcnugget was taking you up on it. I forgot which one I get them 2 confused alot, I didnt take you up on the noble deal because I had a account there already. I took you up on this one as soon as I saw it posted.

eejit101 09-04-05 09:28 PM

ill do it, give me time to get it going. Do they accept deposits from switch and solo cards?

Aequitas58 09-04-05 09:37 PM

It looks like...

Whoover takes advantage of this will also have a shot at more money w/ the freeroll. 15 players? How many are already signed up?

Talking Poker 09-05-05 01:22 AM

This is correct. Everyone who takes advantage of this this month will be entered in the $300 freeroll on October 6th.

Only a few signed up so far, with a bunch more people saying they will. I'm confident we'll reach the 15 minimum.

Also, so far, the people that have been signing up have told me they have been getting ANOTHER $10 from support for making their first deposit within 24 hours. Something like that.

Talking Poker 09-05-05 11:24 AM

See note above. This offer is on hold, effective immediately. I'll post more when I learn more.

BrianSwa 09-05-05 11:32 AM

huh

what note?

nm see it now.

Reel Deal 09-05-05 10:10 PM

Bummer... I was just about to head there and get started. Let us know the status of this when you can TP. Thanks.

Talking Poker 09-05-05 10:28 PM

Will do.... Hope to have things worked out tomorrow. I'll probably still be able to offer you guys some sort of "can't lose" deal, but it might not be $50 any more. Because my players are "unprofitable" (not exactly a big surprise), they cut my commission. I'll get this sorted out in the next day or two...

BrianSwa 09-06-05 12:40 AM

what

who the hell cares if we are profitable or not they get there rake if we win or lose. Ok so we lose and deposit again and they get more rake, this I just dont get at all. I really hate the skin so the only reason I deposited there was to get the $50 free on pokerstars but I understand if you cant give it and I know you will take care of us you have never screwed anyone before and I know you wont now tp.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 01:06 AM

Um............ You are missing the point completely. They don't care if you are profitable as in if you win or lose - they care if you are profitable to them. So, if the "rake" you generate is, say, 10% of the amount of money they pay me for you playing there (or even 90% for that matter), they are losing money on you. Hence, they are cutting my commission.

If you look at the part of your comment that I bolded, that is exactly why this happened. It's not your fault (or anyone else's), but that's the point. Too many people were depositing, collecting the money from me, and leaving without playing there enough to make this a good deal for THEM too.

I WILL honor ALL the signups made up until the time I posted the notice this morning. I will also work out some sort of deal for everyone else in the next day or two... It just might not be $50 any more. It won't be tons less, but it will probably be less.

Anbd we're still on for the freeroll, regardless.

BrianSwa 09-06-05 01:13 AM

cool

really cool of you to still give the $50 even though you are not getting the deal from them anymore, I thank you. Honestly I dont mind giving new sites some action but I really cant stand their torney schedules. Usually if you offer a new site and it looks good to me I will stay there but the site really didnt impress me too much.

I understand but how can they decide we are unprofitable after what 1 week? Is it because we just made minimum deposits? I mean if they just give us one week thats pretty sad because who says next week someone wont just dump 1k in there to play. Personally I think they are losing out by screwing you over and making a bad name for themselves here.

I was actully planning on putting more in there in next couple of weeks because even though I dont like the tornies the NL cash games are very good. Now though im not to sure about it.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 01:30 AM

You're making a lot of incorrect assumptions.

I'm not going to go into all of it, but the Titan people are the same as the Noble people, so they aren't basing this one one week's worth of data, but on all of my Noble referrals for the past however many months as well.

It's a shame, but I don't hold it against them. They are trying to run a business too. And they aren't welching on what they owe me from my previous sales - just moving forward.

BrianSwa 09-06-05 01:34 AM

ok

ok I didnt realize they were taking into account youre noble accounts, I thought they were just thinking about the titan accounts to which I was like no way. Why you refearing such deadbeats anyway :) joke of course. Thanks again TP and I will still most likely deposit in there the NL games are a joke, alot of people calling all ins on draws. Ok im over my ranting now, move on.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 02:12 PM

Ok, we are back in business. I've had to adjust the offer to a free $40 for you instead of $50, but it's still a can't lose deal. Noble has been giving almost everyone $10 for making their first deposit as well, on top of the bonus. And the freeroll is still on for October 6th.

Those of you who made your deposits BEFORE yesterday will still be paid $50, but going forward, it will only be $40.

Sorry for the cut, but it was out of my hands, and for what it's worth, it's hurting me more than it's hurting you guys.

Carry on.

Reel Deal 09-06-05 04:32 PM

Thanks TP... I'll try to log on to Titan tonight through your link and get started.

Quint 09-06-05 05:21 PM

The good and the bad...

The Bad - I don't like the interface so far, but I may get used to it. The time they give you to respond is short (I guess that could go in the 'good' category if someone is holding the game up) making it hard to multi-table.

The Good - TP's $40 and his Freeroll, Titan's $10 and their weekly depositor freeroll ($1000, I think), and really soft tables so far. First hour long session at 6-max .25/.50 Limit I made $15. Second session at the same tables I made $5 before my laptop battery died (left the AC adapter at work).

nflchad 09-06-05 09:42 PM

I don't care for their bonus since playing lower than 100NL requires 500 raked hands per $10 which is a tad extraneous. I can deal with the interface, and when I played I thought the play was slightly better than partys.

omahilo 09-06-05 10:04 PM

Ive played some .50/1 limit 6 max and am up $10... so far so good.

I'll keep playing there for alittle bit... I really dont care for the site but playing there since I get a free $50 from TP and owe it to him and the site to aleast play some hands there.

Gordogg 09-07-05 11:06 PM

Thanks for the offer again TP. I just signed up. I think there support guy, Johnny, doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about though. I deposited through Neteller and the support screen pops up shortly after the deposit was accepted. Johnny says "hi, how can I help you?" I told him I didn't request support, the screen just popped up. I then told him I thought he was going to offer me a free $10 since I just created a new account and deposited money. He said the offer is only good for players who haven't deposited yet. I told him that I have heard players were getting the offer after they deposited and it worked that way for me on Noble. He said nope. So if you know Johnny, tell him he's a moron TP. Thanks.

Aequitas58 09-07-05 11:20 PM

Interesting. I guess the trick is to sign up and then wait a few hours (or possibly days?) to deposit. It looks like you get the free $10 that way.

Talking Poker 09-07-05 11:43 PM

Possibly... but you only get paid the $40 from me after you deposit, and I'm not sure, but it is possible that if you wait too long, I won't get credit for you. I know that doesn't make sense, but so far, I've only gotten credit for about 2/3 of the people who have signed up through my links. They are tracking them down now, and I expect it to all work out, but just FYI.....

BrianSwa 09-08-05 03:27 AM

no

the trick is to make account and wait a couple minutes before you deposit. I got my message from support within like 5 minutes of creating the account. If you deposit before they offer this to you then obviously they dont need to persuade you to deposit because you just did. Kinda what you just said Lou but It shouldnt take couple days just couple minutes.

Reel Deal 09-08-05 09:55 AM

It only took a couple minutes for me.

Aequitas58 09-08-05 12:19 PM

Brian and RD: Thanks for clearing this up. Look for me in the freeroll, I'll be the guy with the huge chip lead. :)

Talking Poker 09-08-05 12:21 PM

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuure you will. I haven't created my account yet, but I'll be in this freeroll and I plan on taking it down...

Aequitas58 09-08-05 12:25 PM

I'm hoping we clear 15 players...

BrianSwa 09-08-05 12:26 PM

hmmm

dont know the run u been having latley I think in pots with you im running all my draws :)

Talking Poker 09-08-05 01:44 PM

Shouldn't be a problem. Well, if they start actually giving me credit for everyone. Right now, about 1/3 of the players aren't tracking to me for one reason or another.

Talking Poker 09-08-05 06:34 PM

FYI....

According to my records (what you guys are telling me), we have 13 players signed up now.

According to my stats at Titan, we have 7. The stats do however show 11 downloads (which is at least closer).

I've contacted them about this, and we're comparing account numbers and trying to sort this out. They were always good about this with Noble, so I suspect this will work out too. Only one person who said they signed up under me definitely signed up under a different affiliate (according to Titan). We should be able to work out the rest.

The point here is twofold:
1. I don't think we're going to have any problem getting the 15+ players for our freeroll.

2. Payments from me may be delayed a bit. First we need to sort this crap out, and secondly, I need them to pay me for last month's Noble people (so I have money to send out). That payment is supposed to be made in a few days, so hopefully this will be all sorted out within a week.

99% of you know I'm not going to screw anyone over here, but I wanted to spell it all out just in case.

Aequitas58 09-08-05 06:50 PM

So basically, you're tryna cheat me? LOL.

Gordogg 09-08-05 07:22 PM

It's a scam. I'm leaving.....for a few days.

BlibbityBlabbity 09-09-05 07:17 PM

So for those of you who have been offered $10 from support....

Is it a $10 credit to your account that is yours right away? Or is there a play requirement before you can withdraw it?

It is seperate/in addition to the matching bonus (which there of course is a play requirement for)?

Thanks

Talking Poker 09-09-05 07:23 PM

It's yours, right away, on top of everything else.

Gordogg 09-09-05 07:34 PM

They offered it to me right after I deposited on Noble poker. (Unlike Titans cheap ass) A chat window popped up from support asking if I'd like an additional $10 for free on top of the match bonus. I said why yes, I would. I waited a day or two and it wasn't there yet. However, I checked my email after that and they sent me an email saying it was given to me. So I logged on to Noble and it still wasn't there. I live chatted with support, she reviewed my account and added it immediatley, five minute process. There is a requirement to be met before you can cash it out, read below:

Dear Gordon,

Congratulations! Your Noble Poker account has been credited with a $10.00 Bonus.
This is our way of thanking you for making your first deposit at Noble Poker.

Please note: The $10.00 bonus has a 20 marketing raked hand requirement. (You
will have to reach that low number of raked hands before you can make a
withdrawal).

See you at the tables and good luck!

This is Noble though, maybe it's different on Titan seeing as how this says I got the $10 for making my first deposit and the moron at Titan said the bonus is only for players that haven't deposited yet.

Spidey44 09-09-05 10:44 PM

Titan is the same...20 raked.

Quint 09-09-05 11:51 PM

When I registered and logged on a live support screen popped up within a minute and they offered me the $10 for depositing. I deposited and clicked on live support and they credited my account with $10 immediately, no strings attached. Playing .25/.50 limit I'll likely never clear the deposit bonus.

By the way, don't forget the $1000 depositor freeroll for those that deposited this week. Sat. @ 7pm.
