Florida Going Online?

Next week, the Florida Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability will present its assessment of online gaming to the Senate Regulated Industries Committee. Florida is just one of several states considering legalizing online gambling as a way to help their local economies. The review is scheduled for January 19 at 4:00 p.m.

From what I've heard, this could go a number of ways.... one of which would make it legal to gamble online INTRA-state, but illegal to gamble outside of the state, which would suck.

The even worse option is for the to go all Washington state on my ass and make it completely illegal.

And then there is of course what I am hoping for, which would be wide open doors. We shall see...

New jersey is also introducing a same kind of law which would allow the big casino there to be involved

Will be very interesting to see how this plays out.

The good news is that the States are taking control which is constitutionally correct and may have the effect of shutting federal regulation out of the equation (fingers crossed).
