Calling out brokeagain

A while back, one of our fellow forum members, brokeagain, promised $5 for anyone who signed up for Pokerchamps.com via his link. I did so, and we were told our accounts would be credited Saturday morning. It's now Monday night, and I'm yet to receive anything or hear if there has been a delay for some reason.

I wouldn't take this public, accept for the fact my PM to him has also gone unanswered, despite him having logged in yesterday.

Things happen. Flat tires, delays with Netteller, whatever. No sweat, just let us know, and when we can expect to see the credit in our account.

Looking forward to this being resolved, after which I'll be happy to post a public thank you and recommendation that others take advantage of this generous offer, as well as all of TP's links at of course.

Supporting this site through my affiliate links is always a good thing. I don't see how I'm at all involved in whatever offer brokeagain made and didn't follow through with.

Maybe he will come through and pay you. Or maybe you should be a little less quick to jump on the first $5 offer you see...

What is the minimum account transfer for that site, because i can't find it anywhere.

I assume its $5?

Aequitas58 11-09-04 07:34 AM

So brokeagain was offering a "bonus" kickback of $5 when you signed up an account under him at PokerChamps. You didn't get the bonus yet (sorry to hear that)...

Not to be a dick or anything... but how is a $5 bonus "generous?"

hackers238 11-09-04 10:24 AM

Well he is offering it to everyone, and he's offering FREE MONEY, and there are about 111 members signed up at this site, all who could take advantage of it.

But then again he hasn't really followed through, so maybe it was not so generous.

Talking Poker 11-09-04 11:00 AM

Menawhile, I have offered each of you $105, and HAVE been following through and paying people. Maybe you should use my affiliate links to help support me so I can make good on my generosity.

Just a thought.

Aequitas58 11-09-04 12:24 PM

Ok, lemme get this straight:

He's offering me $5 to sign up at PokerChamps using his affiliate code. Since I'm using his affiliate code, he's making money on me - either flat fee or a rake percentage ...

I don't know the particulars w/ PokerChamps affiliate system, but I'm sure he's going to make more than $5 signing me up. So, again, I'm missing where it's "generous" that he's offering $5.

hackers238 11-09-04 12:44 PM

Actually, Because of the way that the system is set up, you don't lose any money by having him as your key affiliate. And yes he does gain some, but on 5$, the max he could make would be about 10 cents, so unless we deposit he's practically giving us money.

So yes, he is being generous.

Aequitas58 11-09-04 01:12 PM

Oh... so you don't have to make a deposit? Then I stand corrected.

Jackass_man 11-09-04 02:03 PM

2tone I'll try to send you the $5 sometime this week.

GeoffM 11-09-04 02:27 PM

I couldn't agree with you more, TP. When I reach $50 and have it transferred to PP, I plan in withdrawing it and throwing it in the gaming club to get that $200 bonus and use your link, you scratch my back, I'll use something to scratch yours :D.

Now THAT's a good plan!

Question

Not to be rude or anything. Love the site. Just wondering, if you are shilling your signups and things like that why put a SPAM section in here at all? Just wondering.. it is generous and it is your board so you can do whatever you want..

GeoffM 11-12-04 10:58 AM

I believe the spam section was added so it would not be in the poker discussion forums. Some people, myself included, are rarely if ever interested in spam. Having it here allows spammers to post and only interested parties to read and respond.

Talking Poker 11-12-04 02:06 PM

As GeoffM said, the SPAM section is to keep the Poker Sections clean, so the people who have no interest in it can avoid it. What's funny is how everyone complains about SPAM, yet this is one of the most popular sections on this site. Interesting.

That is a good plan Geoff has. I would like to use the $50 from TP (if I post 200x), to possibly play in a TP.com tournament sometime in January, that has been thrown around;and then try to sign up thru TP into Gaming Club to try to get the bonus there. Is that a prima skin? just curious. I didnt think you could sign up for one if you already played on another, but I have seen that you can. I also plan to transfer some $ into pokerroom and try the tournaments there.
