The Bears

Need to put Orton in because Grossman sucks dick. Though the way the recievers are playing I doubt even a great QB like Orton could make a difference. They need to do something though.

nflchad 01-15-06 06:01 PM

Maybe there qb isn't the issue, maybe they just suck...

PShabi 01-15-06 06:06 PM

Fuck you bitches....

cuz, we back!

omahilo 01-15-06 08:27 PM

that fluke finally ended... nice season... I bet the panthers loved drawing that game, as easy of a game you could hope for on the road against a team with no offense.

Hawt 01-15-06 08:32 PM

I still can't believe how they shafted Orton like that after he led the team all season. If only they had played him, it would of been a different story.

omahilo 01-15-06 10:49 PM

Orton did get hose since he was the starter when they did good but the facts are both QBs suck cock... it doesnt matter which one started.

The bears were only good because of their defense, when they give up 29pts, they will never win, no matter who the QB is.

If anything they should of benched Tillman because that piece of shit got burned up about 20 times.

PShabi 01-16-06 08:24 AM

You guys bashing Grossman sound like you haven't been watching Bears football this season.

We never won a game because of Orton. We won because the defense dominated and Orton did what he had to do to win. Grossman did the same thing last night. If we score that many points, we should win.

But, when you give up 200 yards over your average and have cornerbacks who can't stay off the ground, you get beat.

Carolina stepped up and we didn't. But all this quarterback talk has nothing to do with it.

Omahilo,

Why do you always sound bitter when you talk about Chicago sports? I wouldn't call 11 games a fluke season. Just because they didn't do it conventionally doesn't make it a fluke. And the Panthers didn't "draw" the game, they had to win to earn the right to play us.

thrash1294 01-16-06 04:31 PM

If the bears get a good quarterback in off season they will dominate that division again.

Hawt 01-16-06 04:33 PM

I go to Florida State and Grossman went to the University of Florida. My dad went to Purdue and Orton is from Purdue. So that is why I greatly favor Orton over Grossman. Besides I think Grossman is the "Grant Hill" of the NFL.

PShabi 01-16-06 06:08 PM

I went to Purdue as well, but I'm a Bears fan first and foremost. Grossman is not the Grant Hill of the NFL, at least not yet. That would take some work.

Now, if you're going for Purdue loyalty, I'm not one to disappoint. I named my son Andrew, after the grandfather I never met. But he's called, "Drew" because I happened to be at Purdue for a magical 4 year ride the same time a "Brees" was blowing through old Ross-Ade stadium.

After my beloved Bears, I root for the Chargers.

PShabi 01-16-06 06:09 PM

Grossman is the Bears quarterback next year.

Print it.

Hawt 01-16-06 06:25 PM

Ah see, I was born and raised in Boston, so for me it is the Patriots and then the Chargers.

omahilo 01-16-06 06:30 PM

Im actually a Bulls fan believe it or not so I dont hate all Chicago sports...

Also the panthers would of much rather played the bears compared to the Seahawks so the panthers did draw a better game than the redskins did.

Orton did suck (he had like 8 TDs and 14 INTs or some shit). The bears go as their defense goes, if the defense has a bad game, they will lose, simple as that.

I dont see Grossman being that great, you make it sound like he is going to be some awesome QB... Grossman is better than Orton but overall both QBs are below average at best.

PShabi 01-16-06 07:07 PM

I don't think Grossman is great, but I'd rather have had him in than Orton in this game. I also, whole-heartedly believe that Rex is this team's quarterback. They aren't going to upgrade at this position in the off-season.

I think Rex can be effective and can be the "Trent Dilfer" we need to get it done. I wouldn't cry if we could upgrade (Drew Brees comes to Chi-town and I cream my jeans!) but I don't think it's a point of emphasis.

Go Bulls, too!

I'm die-hard Chicago Bulls, Cubs, and Bears.

Hawt 01-16-06 07:08 PM

I think the Bears should pick up Owens. He may be a shitload of trouble, but at least he has some talent. The Bears had a ridiculous amount of dropped passes last night.

Gordogg 01-16-06 07:41 PM

Shit why don't the Bears just get Trent Dilfer. Nobody else seems to want him. He's old enough too so Rex and Orton can learn from him and take over in a couple years.

PShabi 01-16-06 08:24 PM

I heard some people saying this today too.

Put it this way, if Owens bitches about Donavan F. McNabb, what the hell do you think it would be like in Chicago with Orton/Grossman? The Bears would not bring that cancer in.

They need to maybe add another receiver, although we saw what Berrian maybe capable of in teh future last night. Surely they need depth at corner and that's where the first draft pick would go.

PShabi 01-16-06 08:25 PM

Since your dad's a Purdue alum, does he think Drew Brees is god's gift to football like the rest of us?

omahilo 01-16-06 08:29 PM

what do you think of the Purdue QB who is leaving early for the NFL?

Also the bulls are struggling right now.... hopefully they turn it around like last year at this time.

PShabi 01-16-06 08:55 PM

Wow! I hadn't heard anything about Kirsch leaving for the NFL. All I can say is, enjoy the combines and predraft stuff, cause that's all you'll see of the NFL. Inconsistent enough to get benched in favor of a Freshman. He'll disappear.

As far as the Bulls, don't get me started. The absence of Curry was a little bigger than Johnny Pax and Skiles thought it would be. Couple that with the fact that T. Chandler has regressed and we're hurting in the middle.

To be winning at all is a miracle and Skiles should be coach of the year. Our lineup looks more like an NBDL squad 1/2 the time.

We need a big free agent pick up. I'll take Artest back. They can have Chandler and Nocioni.(I like Andres though.)

Hawt 01-16-06 08:56 PM

Under no circumstance is this guy even an NFL-quality third-stringer at this point. At least if he had completed his final season, he could have taught himself a few more things. He only has 12 starts under his belt and his QB stats were mediocre at best. There has been talk of him taking up Wide Reciever or something though, but again, he is unproven there as well.

I think this quote sums it up best... "He'll bounce around the league for a few years as an undrafted free agent, getting workouts with desperate teams but never getting on, until he ends up doing the 9-5 thing somewhere for the rest of his days, recalling the great football career that almost was.

In other words, he's about five years from certified washed-up-loserville."

PShabi 01-16-06 09:06 PM

I've never met the guy, but if you're a quarterback and you aren't absolutely in love with Coach Joe Tiller, then you're probably an asshole. Tiller is god.

wildcard1433 01-16-06 09:11 PM

Qbs

Okay,
I agree with everyone saying that neither Grossman or Orton is amazing out there, but even at that, Grossman is the best the bears have seen in a long long time. And the biggest problem with last night was that the bears defense did not play like they did all season. Even in '85, MacMahon was not exactly amazing either, they were known for their defense. If the bears were to get a decent QB, and have a decent offense, they really could be amazing.

omahilo 01-16-06 09:12 PM

I cant see him doing well because Purdues QB are 'system QBs' which means they are created by the system or the coach.

This is the case cept for Drew Brees who didnt show signs of life till 2 years ago.

PShabi 01-16-06 09:43 PM

Wildcard,

I started watching the Bears about week 4 of that '85 season. I was 8 years old, a second grader at Union Center Elementary. I remember a good bit of those games even now, and I always thought the same thing about McMahon.

This Christmas, I got the complete season (yes, every game) on DVD and have been watching them. McMahon was fucking great that year. He was All-Pro and led the league in passing rating through the first 1/3 of the season at least. That's as far as I got.

He was a gunslinger and a competitor. One play, he went headfirst into two linebackers diving to get a first down on a scramble. One of the guys came in kind of late and the punky QB just gets up and spikes him with the ball. LOL.

His play is like when Favre gets rollin and is taking chances and making big throws. The only difference is McMahon couldn't sustain it for more than that season. Favre is a god damned ironman and Jimmy Mac was glass baby.
