state of online poker for me, tl;dr

Some people just cannot help themselves in the outright worship of the little cliche that is online poker. Pretty sure I fall into this category too posting nonsensical brag or beat posts. After a certain point of being a poker pro since poker is a series of sometimes brutal variance where the only thing you can control is how you play or how much work you have put in to improve it, you just have to stop caring about short term results. But alas I am human and since money is directly correlated to how well I am doing in this Western world (another viewpoint to be argued for another time on if this is the way humans are supposed to be conditioned to live) so I can't separate the two.

WHO IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WOLRD? You know what, I don't give a fuck. I guess I have finally stopped caring about this which is a plus over the former self of years past. Why does it matter to me, or why should it matter to you? Isn't poker about winning the most money, or more specifically about how much money you are expected to win? I have seen over the past year or couple years a total usurping of standards that were once present among the online community. Table selection is now called the derogatory term of bum hunting. Why is such an important way of being a poker pro now ridiculed and now so often seen in a derogatory light? The only way I can see it is an ultimate leveling war to bring motivation to bring weaker players into the playing pool of tougher players? Maybe there are not enough fish at stakes anymore so the vultures of the past are now so hungry that they have to feed upon older, weaker vultures. Or maybe it is younger more foolish vultures? That is basically all it is, and childish behavior to try to prove you are the best when it is certainly not clear who is after such short term variance.

Some people just have not handled the way online poker is becoming well. It is not 2004, not every table online is filled with retarded monkeys. Table selection is important, unless you want the adoring little retards aka railtards at the computer praising your little .5ptbb/100 since you played anyone while the guy that shuts the fuck up about bragging or beating the best is living a happy life with a ton less variance and likely a happier life since his life isn't obsessed with poker.

As for me, I am becoming a better player with a lot of minor shit that bugs the fuck out of me. Mx4ever still owing me 2k for a stake he ran in tournaments really stopped the little degenerate in me as far as staking. Apparently he lent out 25k and hasn't won that much since June. LOL, life as a tourney pro is pretty laughable then. But hey it's only 2k, not a fuckton of money I'm sure other people have been screwed out of. Anyone want to buy that stake owed? I'm selling it at 1k atm.

As far as strategy wise, I really need to stop posting hands as I have this hand against this range and more look at I have this range against what I believe is x calling range or y bluffing range and act accordingly to that. I have done it in the past, but sort of passingly as sort of known knowledge while in the moment still playing my hand instead of my range like I should. It will improve my thinking a lot more, but with all the drugs I plan to partake I don't know if more thinking will be the key with all the fewer brain cells I will have by the end of the year. I think we call that variance?

This year, most players have little online goals of how well will I run in 2009. Some would say i want 50k,200k,500k,1mill. At least I don't do that anymore.

Goals for 2009: one million hands, play A game 90% of time (meaning quit immediately any signs of frustration mount). That's about it as far as poker is concerned, which I think is as good of a start as any to a poker year.

Maybe you got a little too caught up in internet drama or 2p2 or something? Cuz I've never cared about any of that and could care less what anyone has ever thought about me over the internet.

WWWes-

stop reading 2+2. It will destroy your soul.

Agreed. I go to 2+2 for only one reason: non NLHE strategy posts.
