Party’s Cruise screw-up

You guys read about this? Looks like a fair number of people were inadvertently credited $400. It will be interesting to see if Party trys to re-claim it. The total loss is relatively insignificant to a company with their revenues. And reclaiming from players who had put the money in play and lost gets very complicated. And do you also deduct party points, new year’s tickets, etc?

I bet those higher limit NL tables were hopping for a while there!

my friend while playing on paradise poker, has a message pop up on her screen which said something to the effect of 'congratulations, you're bonus has been reached. You're account has been credited $1,000,000.

She immediately bugged out, she left her table and went to the cashier, and indeed her account balance was over 1 Million Dollars. She tried both to cash out and then transfer 30,000 but the site wouldnt let her.... eventually they froze her account. She called up and eventually her account was restored (at it's correct balance) and she was given $200 for her troubles.

Funny story, this post just made me think of it.

As with the skin split, it’s difficult to follow fact from fiction over at 2+2 with this whole thing. I wish our board was a little more active, but am certainly glad it is not that crazy.

It seems definite that Party is taking back any money erroneously distributed. Some people are being awarded some form of compensation for the inconvenience/confusion, others aren’t. No word on what’s happening to any profit people made with the cash, which I think is the most interesting question.

There is one report of someone having $400 deducted from their account who never received it in the first place, so it might be wise to check your balance.

It seems that Stars just have so much less drama ...
