Money on Neteller

So I still had few hundred dollars on neteller and on January 17 tried to withdraw my remaining money to my bank. Today it is still listed as pending and after 3 emails I finally got this response:

At this time, our ability to provide US members with withdrawals is significantly reduced. We assure you that restoring withdrawal options for you is our top priority. In the meantime, your funds continue to be safely maintained in trust on your behalf.

Unfortunately, we cannot determine how long it will take to restore our withdrawal systems, but will advise you of any changes at updates.neteller.com.

Please continue to visit our US Member Update at for the latest information about NETELLER and its service to US members.

This is a pretty bullshit response but the real question is how long do you guys think it will be before I get any of that money? I thought I had gotten it all out but didn't take into account a recent cashout I had made a day before the shit hit the fan. Now I figure I am pretty much screwed until they feel like giving me my money.

Boobie Lover 01-26-07 09:42 PM

I'm guessing 8 weeks for checks. Probably 4 weeks for EFTs. If I don't get that money before April, I'm kind of screwed for taxes.

thrash1294 01-26-07 11:18 PM

I tried to cashout my remaining $50 from neteller I just got this email

Your account is outstanding in the amount of $(25.00) USD and has been referred to NETELLER Account Retention for further action.

Your Account Manager is Jenae.
Email:
Phone: 1-888-258-5859 ext. 5600

Please contact Jenae at your earliest opportunity to arrange for repayment with one of the options below.

HUH?

Talking Poker 01-27-07 12:28 PM

Sounds like you owe them $25 for something...

thrash1294 01-27-07 02:08 PM

My account says pending $50 eft withdrawl So I have no Idea whats up

If I truly owe them Money I will pay up ,just seems weird:thumbsup:

Talking Poker 01-29-07 12:52 PM

So I just noticed that my business bank account doesn't match my books... WTF? Oh, I see - the money I withdrew from Neteller on 1/15 (before the shit went down) is still MIA. WTF? I wonder how long those transactions will be "Pending" for me.

Good stuff.

eejit101 01-29-07 01:35 PM

Hmm, this aint good.

I too requested a withdrawal on the 20th of jan. It left neteller saying "adjustment" on the 21st jan as usual, and always takes 3 days to reach my bank.

10 days later..... nothing.

Bear in mind im british, not american, this shouldnt affect me, but is, grrrr.

EDIT - on live chat now, see what they say, will post with info

GeoffM 01-29-07 02:18 PM

I'll be in Windsor end of month if any of you Americans want to transfer funds to my neteller and meet me in Detroit. I'll bring you American $$$ and will charge a fee based on the amount I will be funneling over the border :D .

bunny 01-29-07 03:38 PM

Talk around PS is that there is another way of depositing money into poker sites for Americans.

Use of a Visa gift card. It works, many of my American friends have tried it. Price for a 50$ card is about 55$; but it is worth the trouble of loaning & trusting, other players/friends, with money to send to your account.

Boobie Lover 01-29-07 03:55 PM

I think the only way to get the money by April is to transfer it to a non-us person and then them transfer you the money on Stars. I hate Neteller.

jillaj 01-29-07 03:58 PM

But you will be happy to know your funds are being kept in a trust on your behalf until they feel like giving you your money back.

Talking Poker 01-29-07 05:11 PM

How does that get you the money? We're talking about withdraws, here, right?

Aequitas58 01-29-07 05:39 PM

Nothing like tax season to put even the ballerist baller in his place. :)

eejit101 01-29-07 05:56 PM

If anyone needs anything ransfering ill take on neteller deposit to any site you wish and send for me fee whatsoever, just wanna help you guys out if i can, as this is a pile of bullshit.

P.S talk at CAPeuro, while i was there, is there is a payment processor being formed now by the dircetors of an old one primarily for internet gaming, sont know whow it works but the news will be breaking in a month ish. look forward to that!

Boobie Lover 01-29-07 05:56 PM

Stars will send you a check. Neteller will not.

Talking Poker 01-29-07 06:18 PM

I can't believe you'd even offer to do something like this.

You've got nerve.

Talking Poker 01-29-07 06:20 PM

I see.

I wonder if Neteller will drop the Peer to Peer fees, since they are basically holding our money hostage right now. I also wonder if changing one's mailing address to a foreign country would help. That plus a foreign bank account should be enough to get EFTs to work..... maybe?

PShabi 01-29-07 10:10 PM

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHAHA

eejit101 01-29-07 10:59 PM

im not borrowing it, im doing anyone a favour that may need this at some point, for free, as a gesture.

Shit, was trying to be helpful

johnp158 01-29-07 11:19 PM

Yeah, this all sucks. I'm in the process of cashing out all my poker money right now, by the way. I don't really have time to play right now, haven't played in a while, was in a downswing anyway, yada yada. Stars sent me a check, one from Full Tilt's on the way. My only holdup right now is the $800-ish in Neteller. Maybe I'll see it someday. It's not necessarily that I got into panic mode with this whole thing, but I might as well get my hands on what I can, especially if I'm not gonna be playing any time soon.

Level of confidence that I'll actually see all the money? Probably 80%. We'll see.

eejit101 01-29-07 11:32 PM

withdraw by check via stars?

Nikita 01-30-07 08:54 AM

All this crap Neteller is putting Americans through, is really making me want to move my business elsewhere. If they can't get you guys your money, how can I be sure I will be able to get my money when I need it.

Kurn 01-30-07 09:39 AM

No you're not, just file for an extension.

MAYHEM45 01-30-07 10:58 AM

Ditto. I haven't had to deposit for anything since the crackdown, But I will be using my credit card to deposit for the next FT bonus. Fuck Neteller.

Quint 01-30-07 12:05 PM

This is no good. Even if you file for an extension you will have to estimate your tax liability and stroke a check to Uncle by April 17 (2 extra days this year due to the 15th falling on a weekend and 16th being Emancipation day in DC).

Please note: I'm not a auditor, I just listen to them bitch every day. YMMV.

Kurn 01-30-07 01:47 PM

Of course you still have to file an estimate, but he's not "screwed" if he has to wait 90 days to pay. He'll just owe some interest. Maybe we just have different threshholds for what constitutes "screwed." ;)

drewjax 01-31-07 09:53 AM

FYI

Talking Poker 01-31-07 12:29 PM

Key post from that thread:

eejit101 01-31-07 12:35 PM

i still dont have anything and im in the UK. You guys are super screwed.:(

Talking Poker 01-31-07 12:41 PM

I may call Neteller myself later today until I get to speak to a human being who tells me how they are going to get me the money they owe me.

If anyone feels like doing this first, by all means, do. Here is their "VIP" (aka LOL) Phone Number: 1-877-288-4545

Prepare to be on hold for a while.

johnp158 01-31-07 08:14 PM

According to thread, it sounds like you should NOT be P2P transferring money to non-US people who in turn put money into gambling sites. They'll lock up your account.

eejit101 01-31-07 08:22 PM

also according to that link,t he US govt. has siezed the processor neteller have to do bank transfers.

I would like to be the first to say this to that news- fuck

Talking Poker 01-31-07 08:40 PM

This company is a joke. The VIP phone number points you to which points you to 1-888-258-5859 which of course points you to

You also have the option of going through a menu, which then points you to and hangs up on you.

Call it and see for yourself.

I especially like their "We don't have an estimated timeframe for resolution" crap. Yeah, well done. GG Neteller. At least the other sites/services gave people a chance to pull out as opposed to just freezing everything.

eejit101 01-31-07 08:46 PM

Surely we can ask to cancel any withdrawal we have made to our account and cash it out in some other way? Anyone? I have a fair bit of money a the moment that is "nowhere"

ChipFish 01-31-07 09:35 PM

I Made a sizeable withdrawal from neteller on Friday.
It was in my bank today (Wednesday).
So for non-U.S. people that should make you feel better.

As EEjit asked... can't you cancel your pending withdrawal and then deposit it to a poker site?
Hope it all works out for you guys.

Finally, there apparently is a new neteller type ewallet called youteller or something like that... they have no Western offices and this is how they expect to get around the "being arrested thing".... UK based?
Saw a brief blurb on pocket fives, look it up if you have time...

Cheers.

eejit101 01-31-07 09:48 PM

i withdrew 2 weeks ago, nothign yet. Need the cash!

And i posted about youteller in the gneral section already:thumbsup:

jillaj 01-31-07 10:57 PM

So basically there is no way to speak to a live customer service rep? That makes me feel real good about every seeing my money again.

Talking Poker 01-31-07 11:23 PM

If you are able to find an answer to this, please let us know.

Because other than emailing them (GL getting a non-generic response) or playing the phone lottery and hoping that you'll get through to someone at some point in time (all indications point to "No"), I don't see how you're going to find an answer to this question.

Talking Poker 01-31-07 11:26 PM

1. There is no "Cancel" option, and they are impossible to get through to.
2. Even if there was a way to cancel the forever "Pending" withdraw, U.S. customers aren't allowed to:It remains to be seen exactly what happens to the money in the latter case.... does it go through? Does it come back? Or does it just freeze in nowhereland like the EFT withdraws?

Talking Poker 01-31-07 11:27 PM

If you can find a way, let us know. I didn't try ALL of their menu options - like trying to get through to security or something - but I suspect even if I did, they would transfer me to the dead end that points you to the web page and then hangs up on you.

johnp158 02-01-07 12:15 AM

It really sounds as though the only thing that is freezing accounts is if the transferred money is then deposited to a gambling site. Sounds like it can be withdrawn.

And ditto on finding out about canceling "pending" transactions.
