WCOOP Main Event...

$2500+100
1494 entries
$3.7 million prizepool, which I assume is the largest in online poker history.

135 places get paid - $3735 minimum.

Make the final table and you are guaranteed over $56,000.

For the winner...................... $859,050! Holy!!!!!!

That is sick.

eejit101 09-18-05 10:12 PM

that is sick :( wish i had $3k for the buyin

Talking Poker 09-18-05 10:22 PM

They are under 250 players remaining. At a glance, I see Isabelle Mercier, Barry Greenstein, William Chen, and KrazyKanuk to name a few.

Hmmm.... I wonder who "WSOPchamp80" is. I'm thinking it's NOT Stu Unger.

drewjax 09-18-05 11:35 PM

Do they play under their real name? I dont see them. Who is krazykanuck?

Talking Poker 09-18-05 11:50 PM

I'm not sure what his real name is... He's a well known online pro. The others are: NoMercy, crazyplayer, and wchen respectively.

FYI:

ChipFish 09-18-05 11:51 PM

He's this really psycho Canadian guy.

Actually he works for UB not sure what his real name is. Some sort of professional.

Defendant 09-18-05 11:51 PM

Good guess TP!!

Talking Poker 09-18-05 11:54 PM

For bdawg (especially), Geoff and Lou:

That ActionJeff tard who was the shortstack in bdawg's event and wouldn't deal until everyone kicked him more money is still alive.

Currently 8th out of 127 players left.

Talking Poker 09-18-05 11:57 PM

That's right. He does work for UB.... I think I knew that.

johnp158 09-18-05 11:58 PM

ITM now. Harrington's still in. "pickled egg"

BrianSwa 09-19-05 12:18 AM

deals

cant wait to see the deals made at this final table.

Talking Poker 09-19-05 12:20 AM

You sure that's Harrington? Can you confirm that? I know that's someone and I have heard the Harrington rumors. I've also heard it's Bill Gazes.

Defendant 09-19-05 12:40 AM

I heard the Harrington rumor on the rail and Greenstein said its not him...

Defendant

junYUN 09-19-05 12:58 AM

greenstein is on the respirator

junYUN 09-19-05 01:04 AM

hes out K9 against Aj

AJ held up

BrianSwa 09-19-05 01:11 AM

hey

that live broadcast starts at 18 players right?

nutbag 09-19-05 01:35 AM

it's when 16 are left-

Defendant 09-19-05 02:12 AM

Live Broadcast?? where!!?!?!

Talking Poker 09-19-05 02:33 AM

Have you not heard about this? It's fantastic. Rick Charles ("The Voice of Poker") does all of them with someone else. Last night was Lee Jones. A few days before that was Barry Greenstein. When bdawg went deep, it was Wil Wheaton.

Really good listening... and I don't just mean the hand commentary. The general discussion is great.

junYUN 09-19-05 02:57 AM

where do you find it

Talking Poker 09-19-05 03:06 AM

There are links to it from:

-The popup window when you open stars
-The upper right section of the main lobby
-The upper right section of the tourney lobby

And likely elsewhere too :)

Looks like it should be starting any time now.

I'm probably going to miss most of tonight's, but for those who stay up for it, enjoy!

Talking Poker 09-19-05 03:08 AM

Ok, maybe I will stay up. Tonights commentators are: Rick Charles, Greg Raymer, and Barry Greenstein. Very nice!

Talking Poker 09-19-05 03:16 AM

The audio is going on right now.

Props to for hosting such a fantastic event.

nutbag 09-19-05 03:18 AM

tong g is wrapduck, intersting, lets see if he calls all in with j 4

Talking Poker 09-19-05 03:22 AM

Well, holy shit....

This "wraptduck" guy just went from 70k to over 1 million chips (he's currently second). And.......... according to the announcers (And confirmed by his chat), he is Tony G.

You know, this guy:

And now that just said Mark Seif is still in it. He also gave permission to reveal his screen name, but I missed it. I'll pay attention and update my list when they say it again.

nutbag 09-19-05 03:23 AM

i'm pretty sure buster love is seif errr seif is busterlove. whatever

Talking Poker 09-19-05 03:36 AM

I don't know how I can go to bed tonight. This broadcast is great.

nutbag 09-19-05 03:38 AM

Yeah, it's a pretty great group for an online tourney commentary, god bless unemployment

drewjax 09-19-05 03:47 AM

This is good chit..

Talking Poker 09-19-05 04:51 AM

I'm so tired.... can't stop listening though.

Must... sleep....

drewjax 09-19-05 04:59 AM

how much longer you think this is going to go??

Talking Poker 09-19-05 05:15 AM

I don't know. I expect a deal after one more person is out, 2 max. We've been 5 handed for a while.

drewjax 09-19-05 05:33 AM

down to 4. the guy who didnt want to deal is out trying to bluff w/ 83s vs. AJo

drewjax 09-19-05 05:34 AM

talking about a deal now

drewjax 09-19-05 05:47 AM

no deal, pickledegg says no....

drewjax 09-19-05 05:57 AM

dont know if I'm going to make it

Talking Poker 09-19-05 06:30 AM

I can't believe I'm still listening to this.

They are down to 3, trying to work out a deal, but the cocky young punk (Panella86) would rather talk smack than talk deal.

Talking Poker 09-19-05 06:31 AM

Ok, the deal is done.

Over half a mil for each of them. Damn.

drewjax 09-19-05 06:35 AM

down to 3. they are all very close in chips. they agreed to a deal, all over half a mill!!!!!!!!!!! They are playing for 50K and the championship. I think I'm going to try to get a few hours sleep. This has been really cool.

p.s. This is great, my wife just woke up. I said to her, "this is the final table of the biggest online tournament in history". The reply I got "are you playing in it". Uh, ya, sure.

drewjax 09-19-05 06:45 AM

Surprisingly, Barry G. has a great sense of humor. Great stories being told.

drewjax 09-19-05 06:51 AM

its all over. The young punk won, shocking.

Talking Poker 09-19-05 01:11 PM

He'll be broke within the next 5 years.

eejit101 09-19-05 01:15 PM

you give it that long? 2 years here

lightfungus 09-19-05 01:27 PM

apparently he was good enough to win. why will h go broke?

Talking Poker 09-19-05 02:04 PM

He's extremely cocky and arrogant. He'll get involved in limits over his head (seems as if he has done this in the past). He thinks he invincible. He is a recipe for disaster.

eejit101 09-19-05 02:35 PM

Thats why i give him 2 years, hell be playing 2000/4000 or something against Barry Greenstein next thing we hear :D

junYUN 09-19-05 08:49 PM

lol

could that have just been on purpose for table image?

there was word around that he was a fairly good online player

Talking Poker 09-19-05 10:30 PM

Don't get me wrong.... I'm sure he is.

I still think he'll be broke though, if for no other reason than he thinks it can't happen to him. Those are the guys who bust our first.

JDMcNugent7 09-19-05 10:42 PM

agreed.

jillaj 09-19-05 11:20 PM

From what i have been told he has gone broke before playing above his head so unless he has gotten better I expect it to happen again.
